This professional development event is specifically for managers, human resource professionals, and small business owners. Without leaving our local area, leaders will receive cutting-edge information on how to raise their businesses' bottom line.
Topics include: updates on health care reform, employment law, social media in the workplace, and building confidence through acting techniques. Register by May 16.

Carr Center Cake Auction

The 28th Annual Carr Center Cake Auction will be held Thursday, April 24 & Friday, April 25, 2014. We will auction over 400 cakes along with incentives, sponsored by local businesses and individuals, during this two day event. Also join us on Wednesday, April 23 from 6 - 9:00p.m. for our People's Choice Awards and vote for your favorite decorated cake. Grant Funding - OhioMeansJobs-Muskingum County has funding available to help offset the pay of new hires during on-the-job training. Up to 50% of the cost can be reimbursed to your business through this federal grant. Midwest Scholastic Rowing Assocation

Midwest Rowing - On May 10 & 11 a very positive and unique event will be held in our community. The Midwest Scholastic Rowing Association will hold their annual Championship Rowing Regatta on the lake at Dillon State Park. This event will bring here thousands of high school competitors, family members, and spectators from 12 states. It potentially presents a great business opportunity for you, and more broadly it will have a significant economic impact on our area. Here are some ways you can help:
- Be aware that these guests are in town on May 10 & 11. If you run across people here for rowing, thank them and ask if they need any help like directions, suggestions, etc.
- Go watch the rowing competition. It is a fascinating and exciting sport and admission is free.
- Consider being a sponsor. if your business benefits from attracting groups like this to the community then you can help keep them coming back by supporting their event.
- Consider buying an ad in their program. If you want to capture some of the business from the members of this visiting group this is a great way to reach this audience.

Ohio Business Matchmaker Event

The Ohio Business Matchmaker is a unique event designed to bring together potential qualified suppliers with buyers from federal, state, local and prime contractors to fulfill their contracting needs and requirements. Buyers and suppliers will have the opportunity to meet for 10 minutes in one-on-one sessions to discuss billions of dollars' worth of upcoming opportunities. This event also provides training sessions aimed at guiding small, minority, veteran, woman and HUBZone businesses on requirements and expectations on how to do business with government agencies and prime contractors.
