As a safety practitioner, it is important that you be able to readily identify hazards in the workplace as well as know what to do about them when they are found. At times hazards are identified after an accident already happens. Learn how to understand hazards to make your environment a safer place to work and reduce future accidents.
Lisa Wellman, COSS, has recently moved to Zanesville and works for O-I as the Plant Health & Safety Manager. She has thirteen years experience in the safety field. When working in Northwest Ohio Lisa sat on the planning committee for NW Ohio Safety & Health Day and also conducted safety training for businesses through Owens Community College.
- A buffet breakfast will be served.
- The membership fee for Safety Council is either $10 per meeting or $110 per year if paid in advance.

- Please submit your semi annual reports by January 24. You can access a paper report form here. Or you can complete the form online.
- You can keep track of your attendance at meetings here. Remember, if you are working toward the Safety Council rebate, attendance at 10 meetings is required between July and June.
- You should know that as a Safety Council member in the state of Ohio, workers' compensation FRAUD costs YOU money!!! In an effort to raise awareness and prevent FRAUD, The Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation Special Investigations Department has created a quick reference document to help you identify and report Fraud. Please print the document and post at your place of work.
