My husband makes me crazy and I need your help! I am looking for a marital therapist as I am at my wits end with his selective hearing (or shall I say selective listening). Please share your experiences if your therapist really helped. I look forward to your replies.

Be on the Lookout
From Team JAB
A JABBER wrote to us about an attempted break-in at her Coral Gables home. Police are seeking a Hispanic male wearing a white shirt and khaki shorts with a large neck and arm tattoo. The JABBER says, "He tried to break into my house while my housekeeper was home. He was caught on surveillance running down my street and cops say that they have been looking for the same man in our area for months now. Apparently, a man fitting that description has been breaking into people's homes in Coral Gables in the late morning/early afternoon hours." Stay safe and be on the lookout, JABBERS!

Re-Focus Your Over-Stimulated Kids
From Rina Jakubowicz:  REPLY
Kids are over-stimulated these days with iPhones, iPods, iPads, video games, DVR ... the list is endless. It is important for them to disconnect, literally, from their devices and do something positive for their well-being. The Super Yogis' Schoolhouse gives kids and teens a chance to do so. Kids will feel the benefits of yoga, such as improved concentration, the ability to find calmness, physical heath and positive body image. The program allows kids to jump, stretch, and play, as well as relax in resting yoga poses. Click HERE for more information about our classes.*

Take the Floor
From Lorrie LeGrand:  REPLY
I am moving into a new home in Kendall that has the original tile flooring from 1977. I would like to put down porcelain tile throughout and wall-to-wall carpeting in some of the bedrooms. Can you recommend a great flooring company that will stay on schedule, produce high-quality work and provide fair prices? Your suggestions are much appreciated.

Shhh, It's a (Beauty) Secret!  cucumber-facemask-girl.jpg
We recently asked JABBERS to blow our minds (and our hair) by sharing tried and true DIY concoctions. Below are some of your best kept beauty secrets for you to try from the comfort of your kitchen.

Go Green with Repurposed Tea Bags
Chamomile-enthusiast Ann Schepmann saves them in the refrigerator after she's enjoyed a cup. "When I'm ready to use them, I squeeze out the excess liquid and place them on my eyes for 20 minutes. It feels cool and soothing, and it really works to reduce puffy eyes!"

Go Bananas with Your Hair Mask
Valerie Ramkhelewan mashes a banana with a tablespoon of honey, and massages it into her hair. 10 minutes and a warm rinse gets her healthy hair! "The potassium is terrific for repairing the damage done by my blow dryer and curling iron."

An Egg-cellent Skin Solution
Gale Aycox wards off sagging skin with egg whites. She beats until firm and spread them evenly over my face. After 20 minutes, she rinses with warm water. "I noticed a difference after only a few weeks!"

Get A Foot Up with Baking Soda + Petroleum Jelly
Long distance runner Carol Anton is constantly combating callouses. "I treat them by soaking my feet in warm water mixed with 1/2 cup of baking soda for 30 minutes. I towel dry, slather with Vaseline and top with thick cotton socks." Leave on overnight for pedi perfect piggies in the morning.

And Just In Time for Oktoberfest...
Beer is Rachael Hodyno's secret to a shiny head of hair. "I won't shampoo or condition my fine hair before an event, but a beer rinse breathes a new life into my locks." Pour it on, work it in gently and rinse. Team JAB advice: Remove the bottle from the shower to avoid potentially uncomfortable discussions with loved ones.
