One World Trade Center Stands Tall in Lower Manhattan's Skyline
|
From Team JAB
It's a sight for sore eyes. One World Trade Center rises out of Lower Manhattan like a phoenix from the ashes, a defiant 1,776 ft tall. Today, as we share our stories of that fateful day 12 years ago and remember those who were lost, let us also share in the rebirth of an icon and admire the resilience of the American spirit. We will never forget.

Perps Beware. We're Onto you! From Boo Zamek This is just a friendly reminder from all of us here at Team JAB to be extra careful and aware of your surroundings at all times. Check your rear view mirrors while driving home from the grocery store. Lock your doors. And don't forget to set your burglar alarms. There is crime all around us and while we can't eradicate it, we can help each other our friends and neighbors stay safe by reminding each other to be aware and careful. Just the other day I sent an email to 40 of my neighbors informing them of a robbery that had taken place on my street {complete with a mug shot; this was no rumor}, and almost every person on my list replied with an anecdote about a home or car break-in in recent weeks. Currently, I'm hearing about a group of homeless men in Coral Gables on stolen bikes who are stealing phones, sunglasses, purses, etc. from cars and homes late at night. Just last week, Coconut Grove residents called an emergency crime meeting with the mayor, commissioners and police officials to address an influx in home burglaries in the area. Last year, I recall hearing stories about people dressed like 'the cable guy' who knock on the front door to distract the home owner, while an accomplice breaks in to the back of the house. Every school year I hear about moms who leave their purses in the car 'just for a minute' to walk their children into school and come back to a smashed car window and a stolen purse. One of my neighbors in Coral Gables was robbed at gun point on his driveway in broad daylight - just for a Rolex! You get the point, JABBERS. Please take care of yourselves and each other and stay safe! Click HERE for helpful tips from the Miami Police Department. |
Are You Worried About Your Child's Schooling?

If you have ever considered home schooling or another alternative because your child is stressed-out or failing, call us. New Village Academy's students work in groups of four to six children, studying a personalized curriculum which uniquely addresses each of their strengths and weaknesses. From one high school student: "I learned more in one day here than I did an entire semester in my last school!" We provide an attentive, nurturing and effective alternative for parents who want the best for their children in grades K-12. Click HERE or call 305.321.0031.*
