JAB Spotlight: Kathryn Becker Dear JABBERS: As National Breast Cancer Awareness Month comes to a close, we shine our spotlight on Kathryn Becker, a 15-year breast cancer survivor and influential advocate for breast cancer awareness. Fifteen years ago, at age 32, Kathryn received news that would forever change her life: she had an aggressive form of breast cancer. It was a devastating time, but one that she survived, emerging with a focus on making a difference in the lives of cancer patients and survivors. She is a past president of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Miami/Ft. Lauderdale affiliate, which just last year raised over $2.5 million dollars to support over 30 local grantees, helping to make a difference for thousands of underserved women and men in our community through education, screening and treatment. Each October, the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale affiliate also brings together more than 20,000 people for a 5K that celebrates survivorship. After battling cancer again in 2004, Kathryn was asked to participate in a progress report for the American Association for Cancer Research. She had the opportunity to share her story with staff members at The White House, with the goal of discussing and advocating for new breakthrough treatments, trials and research. Through her volunteer work, Kathryn has inspired and given hope to women and men in our community who are battling and surviving breast cancer. Thank you, Kathryn, for dedicating your life to breast cancer awareness and advocating for much-needed research to help find a cure. You are a true inspiration to many! Happy JABBING!

Art AttackJABBERS, do you know of a gallery or location that can showcase various pieces of fine artwork so that they can be appreciated? The works will otherwise be boxed up and sent back to the artist in Peru so I'd like to find a place to show, not sell, the works so that others can enjoy the beautiful artwork. Any ideas? Thanks!

We're Under Seige!
From Cheryl Murillo: REPLY
We have somehow gotten a flea infestation in our home, even though our only pet is an indoor cat. We've tried using a pest control service, fogging the house, flea spray (house and pet), and just about everything else we can think of. JABBERS, do you know of any alternatives that can help me take back control of my house? Any products or services you can recommend are much appreciated.

Well, now you have that in JustAskBoo, but unlike your proprietary friend, we aren't stingy with the information. That's the kind of thing you want to pass along and as of today, we made it even easier for you to do just that. Simply forward the newsletter to your closest friends and tell them to SIGN UP! They will thank you, because JAB is just too good to keep to yourself.
