Century Cycles Bike To School Challenge returns for the EIGHTH year!
The biggest bike-to-school program in the nation, the Century Cycles Bike to School Challenge, begins on May 5, 2014, with events in Bay Village, Medina, and Rocky River.
From May 5 through May 23, over 4,000 students at six schools will take the challenge. The students are gearing up to compete for prizes and hope to beat last year's impressive records.
Sponsors Raleigh Bicycles and Century Cycles will award Raleigh bicycles to students as prizes, along with prizes from other local and national sponsors.
To help students and their families prepare for the Bike To School Challenge, we've teamed up with the local communities to bring you these events, all free and open to the public:
- April 29, 6:30-8:00pm - Bike To School Night at Century Cycles in Medina (1059 North Court Street). Bring your bicycle to the store for a free safety inspection, check out cool bike commuting gear, and learn more about the Medina Bike To School Challenge.
- April 29, 6:30-8:00pm - Rocky River Bicycle Fair at Rocky River Middle School (1631 Lakeview Avenue). Bring your bike in for a free safety inspection, get a chance to win a free helmet, and get more information about the Rocky River Bike To School Challenge, plus talk to other program sponsors.
- May 1, 6:30-8:00pm - Bay Village Bicycle Fair at Bay Middle School (27725 Wolf Road). Bring your bike in for a free safety inspection, get a chance to win a free helmet, and get more information about the Rocky River Bike To School Challenge, plus talk to other program sponsors.

The National Bike Challenge is Back!
The National Bike Challenge is a free and friendly competition that encourages all people to get out and ride, whether as daily commuters, weekend warriors, or somewhere in between. People on bikes log their miles throughout the summer at RustBeltBattle.org, NationalBikeChallenge.org, or through one of the approved mobile apps and compete as individuals, teams, workplaces, and cities against others locally and across the country.
While the Challenge doesn't officially begin until May 1st (ending September 30), you can register now. Invite your friends to get in on the action by registering and logging miles so we can dominate Pittsburgh in the Rust Belt Battle of the Bikes and bring the Rust Cup back to Cleveland!
Once you register, it's easy to create or join your workplace and team. Don't have a team? You can join the Century Cycles team! Just search for "Century Cycles" in the team selection box.

Take our latest online poll
With Night Ride season upon us, you may be thinking about what's the best kind of headlight to use on your bicycle. Stop into one of our stores to discuss your night-time cycling needs with our experts to pick the best light for you!
If you've already got a headlight for your bike, what kind of light do you prefer? Take our latest online poll to let us know!
Our last poll asked, "What's your dream cycling vacation?" Most (31%) answered "Complete a long rail-trail route, like the GAP/C&O Trail, Katy Trail, etc." But, that was followed closely (29%) by "Ride across the USA." You can see the full results of the last poll here.
