Your Family Can Help Many Families on June 1

Did you know it costs families just $20 per night to stay at the Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland while their children are receiving care at local hospitals, and that no family is ever turned away for an inability to pay? That's why the registration fee for this very special charity Night Ride is $20/person - because every Night Rider's registration helps pay for a family's stay. The perks of this Night Ride are great (free t-shirt, goody bag and turnaround snacks!), but the best perk is knowing you made a difference to a sick child's family. Register now:

Where We Ride: To School!

2013 Bike To School Challenge Sponsored by Century Cycles
This week, five Northeast Ohio schools are in the middle of the Bike To School Challenge Sponsored by Century Cycles (see more below).

With that being said, our monthly "Where We Ride" suggestion this week is: TO SCHOOL!

The route you take to school (or work) varies for everyone, so instead, we offer the following links with safety tips, commuting tips, and more:
Northeast Ohio is "Land Where Kids Ride," say Bicycling Magazine; Bike To School Challenge Off to Record Start!

A group of girls pose after biking to school Bicycling Magazine sent executive editor David Howard to Bay Middle School on National Bike to School Day on May 8, and he was stunned to watch 634 students (a whopping 77% of the school!) arrive on their bikes. He reported on his experience in this story, "The Land Where Kids Ride: In suburban Cleveland, an astonishing number of children ride to school. Here's what we can learn from them."

Full bike rack at Bay Middle School Besides garnering national attention from Bicycling and The Atlantic Cities, it has also been a record-setting start to Bike to School Challenge -- all but one school in the program are double-digit growth over last year's ridership, with three schools logging record days. Overall, the program averaged 1,275 bicyclists to school per day at the five schools, for a total of 6,375 bike-rides to school!

Before the three-week program concludes on May 23 at Rocky River Middle School and on May 24 at Bay Middle and High Schools and Medina middle schools, we highly encourage you to bike to one of the school's and check it out for yourself - it's an amazing and inspiring sight to see!
