Where We Ride: Twinsburg-Garrettsvlle Loop

Kevin Madzia Kevin Madzia is Century Cycles' Webmaster and IT guy, based in the Peninsula store. He enjoys all kinds of cycling, from road rides and overnight tours to off-road adventures. The Twinsburg-Garrettsville Loop is one of his favorite road routes. This hilly 50-mile loop makes for great early-to-mid-season training for TOSRV, Bike MS Pedal to the Point, or your first century.

Winter Clinics a Huge Success

Doug Charnock teaching a clinic in Peninsula (photo by Adele Sanchez) A big thanks to everyone who attended one of our many FREE Bicycling and Maintenance Clinics this past winter! A special shout-out must go to our amazing staff, without whose knowledge none of this would be possible and who racked up some impressive numbers -- they taught 29 clinics on 17 different cycling topics to 379 attendees! We also want to again congratulate our clinic prize winners: Craig Butler, Steven Bennett, Jane Wolfe, Ryan Gerrity and Missy Lynn Krejci.
You have one final educational opportunity before we get too busy to hold clinics - tonight's The ABCs of Di2 Electronic Shifting Clinic in Medina at 6:30pm. This is a great chance to learn about one of the most exciting developments in bicycling AND get a chance to win an awesome set of Shimano Ultegra Carbon Pedals. See you there!

How many bicycles does your household own? Take our latest online poll!

A customer in our Peninsula store, Patrick recently mentioned that between him and his wife, plus their kids, they have 23 bicycles in their garage! That's pretty impressive, even to us bike shop folks who tend to collect bikes. How many bicycles does your household own? Click here to take our latest online poll and let us know!

Last month's poll asked,
"How cold is too cold to ride your bicycle?" The most responses (27%) were "I won't ride if it's below 45 degrees," but it was pretty evenly split, with the least responses (17%) saying "I'll ride no matter what the weather is." You can see the full results of the last poll here.
New T-Shirt Colors!

We've just received a shipment of our ever-popular "Define your life. Ride a bike." t-shirts, and we've got them in some hot new colors for men, women, and kids.

Medina staff modeling the new t-shirt colors

The staff from the Medina store (with help by Angela from Munchkin's Kloset) model the new colors. Chris (left) is in Screaming Yellow (unisex AND kids' sizes); Angela shows off the new Hot Pink for women, and Bob (right) wears the new Shamrock Green (unisex) just in time for St. Patrick's Day! Bob's friend-in-arms shows the new Purple for boys and girls. Also, by popular demand, the old standby Black is now available in women's-specific sizes!

Only $19.99 each, but as always for the past 21 years, FREE with every new bicycle purchase!
It Was Like, Totally Rad
4 Women with Gnarly 'staches
Huge thanks to the nearly 200 people who helped us kick winter to the curb (and flash waaaaay back to the 1980s!) on Mar. 1 at our Like Totally Rad Spring Kick-Off Party!

Even bigger thanks to the 25+ people who came ready to compete in the Gnarly Mustache Contest -- all the boys, girls, men, and women who brought their best 'staches! The crowd voted by cheering, bringing the original field down to seven fantastic finalists. But there could only be one "gnarliest," and that title went to Matthew Kylie of Lakewood, who won a $100 Century Cycles Gift Card!

Thanks also go to Sierra Nevada Brewing Company for providing the beverages, Giant Bicycles, Pearl Izumi, and SKS for providing door prizes, and Rent-A-Center of Medina for providing big-screen TVs.
