It doesn't matter if it's game time or not, the Dalhousie Tigers always work together.
This week as first year students moved into their residences, athletes from most varsity Tiger teams were there to help. They helped move boxes, unpack rooms, and help out any first year students who needed any assistance.
From the men's basketball team at Sherriff Hall to the women's volleyball team at Gerard Hall, there were plenty of athletes helping first year students make the transition to university life as seamless as possible.
"They were doing a great job, dressed in black and gold, being helpful and friendly in moving the new students in," said women's volleyball coach Rick Scott.
But we all know Tigers never sleep. They were just getting started helping make the students' first week on campus one to remember.
Led by Live Well @ Dal, the DSU and the Tigers Varsity Council President and Dalhousie track and field athlete, the second day of Orientation Week was highlighted by Dalympics. The afternoon-long competition was held all over campus and saw first year students running, jumping, diving and even belly-flopping in different events. The Tigers stepped up to the plate again, using their leadership to guide students through the events.
"It was awesome seeing the students having a blast competing against one another, getting to know other students and having fun gaining points for their houses. Dalympics was a great success," said track and field athlete Emma Roung, who ran the inflatable crash course all day.
