Adult Event: Wendy Lesser Presents "Why I Read: The Serious Pleasure of Books" Thursday, January 29 at 7:30PM

What and why do YOU read? If you are like many of us, you have a pile of books on your nightstand, snippets of ideas on what to read next, and fantasies about finding yourself with unlimited free time to do so!

If this is you or someone you know: join us tomorrow night for a special event for the grownups out there. This is perfect for your Book Club, a date night, or a "girl's night out": author Wendy Lesser with Why I Read: The Serious Pleasure of Books on Thursday, January 29 starting at 7:30 PM.

In this book from Picador, the reader will discover a definition of literature that is as broad as it is broad-minded. In addition to novels and stories, Lesser explores plays, poems, and essays along with mysteries, science fiction, and memoirs.

In the spirit of E. M. Forster's Aspects of the Novel and Elizabeth Hardwick's A View of My OwnWhy I Read is accessible, conversational, and full of insight. It will delight those who are already avid readers as well as those looking for ideas on what to read next!

You will be sure to meet some other local folks who love books as much as you do. RSVP appreciated so we may provide light refreshments for the group: 650-949-3390.
