Local YA author Lindsay Tam Holland will be the special guest moderator for this author panel and signing event with:

-Gennifer Albin, author of the Crewel World books (Crewel, Altered, Unraveled);

-Nikki Kelly, author of the Styclar Saga(Lailah); and

-Jessica Brody, author of the Unrememberedbooks (Unremembered, Unforgotten, Undiscovered,Unchanged)

"How to Learn to Tell a Story, Part 2" With Enid Davis This Sunday at 4PM!

 

Families with children ages 7 and up: please join beloved local storyteller Enid Davis this Sunday, October 12 at 4PM. 

We will emphasize putting in dramatic components such as using voice and gestures to enhance your story. 

If you missed the first class, come prepared knowing an Aesop fable. (Fables are short stories that teach a lesson.) 

The program is sponsored by the Los Altos Library Storytelling Festival Committee which is gearing up for its first all-day festival on Saturday, November 15 from 11AM to 4PM. 

The festival is free and open to listeners from ages 4 to 104. Telling stories is the oldest art form. Silicon Valley can be home to both the advances of high tech AND the soulful impact of oral storytelling. 

There will be storytelling for families the seond Sunday of each month at 4 pm at Linden Tree through November. It is put on by Save the Ugly Duckling, Keep the Art of Oral Storytelling Alive.

"Never Girls" Author Kiki Thorpe: Tuesday, October 21 at 4PM   

 

Calling All Never Girls: Author Kiki Thorpe will be at Linden Tree to present the latest book in her popular series with A Pinch of Magic (Book #7) on Tuesday, October 21 at 4PM.

About the book: Big baking plans turn into tiny little cupcakes when Mia gets a fairy's help for her neighborhood bake sale. Tinker Bell and the Disney Fairies star in a magical early chapter book series for girls ages 6 to 9.

We will offer craft activities and refreshments based on the books!

The special Fairy House Craft Activity is free with the purchase of a Never Girls series book or $5 material fee without purchase of book.

Author Kendare Blake with "Mortal Gods" Plus Aromatherapy Demos: Saturday, October 25 at 4PM!    

 

Please join us in welcoming Kendare Blake, author of the Goddess War series with a special afternoon author visit, reading, and book signing.

Natalia, the owner of Earth Beauty (next door to Linden Tree) will do a Aromatics Alchemy Demonstration prior to our event.

RSVP so we can provide seats and plan for aromatherapy supplies!

Due to content this excellent series and other books by this talented author are recommended only for older teens and adults.

Join us for a special Story Time on Saturday, October 25 at 11AM. Author Jenny Hurwick will be sharing her adorable book "The Adventures of Frazzle and Twitch: A Halloween Story with a Christmas Twist!" 

Please join us for FREE Picture Book Story Time every Saturday at 11 AM. 

Booksellers or authors will share classics and NEW favorites around a particular theme. 

Story Time will be most appreciated by children ages 2-6 but all are welcome.

Signed Copies of Ian Lendler's "Stratford Zoo Midnight Revue Presents: Shakespeare's Macbeth" In Store



We were honored to have author Ian Lendler present his hilarious graphic novel titled The Stratford Zoo Midnight Revue Presents: Macbeth at local schools today.

We have signed copies of this great introduction to Shakespeare that is funny and creative and good for ages 7 to 10 (though those in middle school and up will definitely appreciate the humor and subtle references to the original material.)

Ian will be back for another school visit and a store event on Wednesday, November 12 at 4PM.
