New Dental Rate Sheets for Small Businesses with 2-9 eligible lives in Pennsylvania

Groups with 2-9 eligible lives:

Check out our new dental rate sheets for customers with 2-9 eligible employees. Refer to rate sheet for ineligible industries as they apply to your market.

Groups with 10+ eligible lives:

Call your Aetna or Coventry representative today to get a dental quote for your customers with 10+ eligible employees, based on the group census. You can refer to the Aetna Specialty Small Group Sales Support flyer to find the information we need to provide you a quote.

 

Dental Q&A

 

What is the minimum case size?

  • Standard plans may be sold with Coventry medical to groups with 2 or more eligible employees
  • Voluntary plans may be sold to groups with 3 or more eligible employees
  • Standalone dental plans may be sold to groups with 3 or more eligible employees

What are the required participation levels for standard plans?

  • 2 to 3 eligible employees: 100%, excluding those with other qualifying existing dental coverage.
  • 4 to 50 eligible employees: 75%, excluding those with other qualifying existing dental coverage.  A minimum of 2 and 50% of total eligible employees must enroll in the dental plan.
  • 51 to 100 eligible employees: 30%, excluding those with other qualifying dental coverage.

What are required participation levels for voluntary plans?

  • 3 to 100 eligible employees: 30%, excluding those with other qualifying existing dental coverage.
  • Minimum of 3 must enroll.
  • If a group does not qualify for a standard plan and has 30% or more participation, the group qualifies for voluntary.

How long are the waiting periods?

  • Waiting periods do not apply to standard plans in our 10-100 portfolio
  • Waiting period in our 2-9 portfolio does not apply to DMO plans
  • Waiting periods do apply to standard plans in our 2-9 portfolio, and to voluntary plans 3-100, as noted here:
    • PPO and Indemnity Plans: For major and orthodontic services, employee must be an enrolled member of the employer's plan for one year before becoming eligible.

Waiting period may be waived at group takeover if group had prior qualifying coverage.

 

Do excluded industry lists apply to Aetna Dental?

Excluded industry lists do apply to Aetna Dental when sold standalone. Excluded industry lists are included in our dental rate sheets. When Aetna Dental is sold with Aetna or Coventry medical plans, excluded industry lists do not apply.

 

What is the incentive program for selling Aetna Dental?

We offer a quarterly broker incentive opportunity for selling Aetna Dental in addition to base commission. The incentive program applies to both standalone dental plans and dental plans sold alongside Aetna or Coventry medical plans.
