Please promise us...

While our newsletters contain helpful information, they are not urgent. Nor do they deserve to interrupt your focus by landing in your Inbox. Promise us that you'll set up a Rule (within Outlook) that will presort this newsletter into another folder so it doesn't even end up in your Inbox.

The easiest time to create a rule is once an email lands in your inbox. Just follow these simple steps:

Right click and highlight the email in your Inbox > Rules > Scroll to "Always move messages from Organized Audrey" > Choose folder to sort into.

Viola!

What's Your Excuse?

Today's Monday Moment is a video tip in which I challenge you to think of the root case of your disorganization.  When I ask people why they think they are disorganized, I hear a variety of reasons:

  • I was born this way
  • My spouse makes me disorganized
  • I have teenagers
  • I can't say "no" to others
  • I don't have enough time to get everything done
  • I'm so overwhelmed I don't know where to begin

When identifying the cause of your disorganization, I encourage you to dig deep. Go beyond the obvious and ask the tough questions. If you can't say "no", why can't you say no? Is there a particular person that consistently takes advantage of the fact that you can't say no? If so, what are you going to do about it?

Going Out on a Limb...

This is a big risk for me, but I want to share my secret for managing e-newsletters I've subscribed to.

It's called Unroll.me and it's free. This amazing service allows you to mass unsubscribe from subscriptions you no longer want to receive (we hope you don't do that to our newsletter!) and place the ones you want to keep into a daily digest email called the Rollup. I "rollup" emails from daily coupons such as Living Social along with notifications from my social media. But for particular newsletters (like the one you're reading right now) I prefer to leave alone and continue coming into my Inbox.  The rollup saves me so much time and clutter in my Inbox.  Check it out.

Have a productive week!
