3) Keep it SHORT & SIMPLE - It's your responsibility to edit 'forwards' or any lengthy item to a reasonable length. Include contact info, & links for readers who want to know more. Do NOT submit flyers, press releases & attachments; Write up what you want to say, keeping it as succinct as possible. Ahura's List reserves the right to edit submissions for length & clarity.

COMMUNITY KIRTAN BENEFIT & VEGAN POTLUCK
Saturday, Sept 4, 6:30 - at Garden of the Heart Yoga, 2888 Ringling Bvd at Tuttle (Gold Tree Plaza). We will begin with a vegan potluck at 6:30 pm. Bring a plant-based dish to share. (Pure Vegetarian, no eggs, no dairy.)
Around 7pm, we will take turns leading kirtan - chanting the devotional music that opens our hearts. All are invited to lead mantras if they wish. Bring your favorite instruments and drums! All ages are welcome, so bring the whole family.
Donations for this kirtan will go to support Solar Aid, an international charity that provides solar energy to some of the most remote regions of the world. SUNSET TAI CHI AT THE BEACH
Every Monday evening, starting 15 minutes before sunset, at Siesta Beach Access #5 (at the edge of the village where the road curves sharply to the left). Join us for a leisurely session of T'ai Chi Chih (also called Moving Meditation), as we watch the sun set over the Gulf. If you want to quickly de-stress, this is a healthy, enjoyable way to do it. No experience or knowledge of T'ai Chi is necessary; just follow along as we all face the sunset. Led by Richard or Diana Daffner or Pat (Ahura) Finstad.

NIGHT IN THE ISLANDS - TARPON SPRINGS
Saturday, Sept 12, 6-11pm - The City of Tarpon Springs will present Night in the Islands, a free event on the world famous Sponge Docks. Enjoy Greek music, dancing, & dining! FREE YOGA CLASSES FOR VETERANS
Every Wednesday from 3:30-4:30pm, Veterans, military service members, and their immediate family members may enjoy a free yoga class led by Cheryl at Garden of the Heart Yoga, 2888 Ringling Blvd at Tuttle (Gold Tree Plaza). This class is gentle, therapeutic, and is designed for veterans and service members who may be working with injuries, PTSD, or who have never tried yoga before. Flexibility is NOT required!
Every Tuesday from 6-7 pm, Vets may also attend a free, GOH-sponsored yoga class at the Goodwill Veterans Services at 8490 Lockwood Ridge Rd. This class is led by Linda Lee.

Sensory Motor Amnesia (SMA) is the condition of chronically-tight muscles that have learned to stay contracted due to repeated responses to stress such as accidents, injuries, surgeries, and repetitive tasks. The resulting patterns of muscular contraction result in common conditions such as chronic back, neck, shoulder and hip pain, limited mobility, joint pain, poor posture, and shallow breathing. CNA WANTED
I am the case manager for a woman of 76 who has Lewy Body dementia with Parkinsons. We have a team of 6 caregivers that care for our patient 24/7. Sheila, our patient, is confined to a wheel chair and becoming increasingly sleepy and rigid. I have been with her and her husband for 3 years.They are very dear to me, really wonderful, very kind! One of my employees just gave a 2 week notice and I will be interviewing candidates for a part time position (probably 20-24 hours/wk) during the next 2 wks. Candidate should be a bit flexible and very kind.
Any new caregiver will be best accepted with loving, patient attention. Sheila loves gentle touch, massage, simple chats and most of all, she responds to a smile! We expect the employee will be considered contract labor for the first 60 days as an evaluation period. Starting salary is $20/hr.

Pir Zia is president of the Sufi Order International and founder of Suluk Academy, a school of contemplative study with branches in the United States and Europe. EXPLORING POSSIBILITY OF WEEKLY 'DREAM GROUP' (updated)
One of my richest experiences in the past twelve years while I lived in Idaho was my participation in a "Dream Group." In this group of deep and intimate sharing I found my most important friendships. It also tilled the soul from the unconscious where these dreams are formed. I wonder if there is anyone in this community who feels called and qualified to lead such a group. Based on my experience with the Idaho group I would be happy to be a support person for such a teacher/facilitator.
