The United States Department of Education has taken a positive step toward recognition of dyslexia, dyscalculia and dysgraphia. Many parents of students with dyslexia or with specific learning disabilities in math and writing know the difficulty of obtaining individualized services for their children- particularly if the children have average or above-average cognitive abilities. School Anxiety:
A Psychological, Educational and Legal Perspective
School anxiety has become prevalent among children of all ages and can be a difficult problem for parents and school districts. Littman Krooks LLP and Fusion Academy Westchester are hosting a seminar that will emphasize the importance of early identification and intervention.
A multidisciplinary panel will discuss: early warning signs of school anxiety; understanding school avoidance; what steps parents and schools can take; what educational interventions work; what parents can do to protect their children's legal rights to a free and appropriate public education.
