Happy Thanksgiving!
Remember in Prayer

On this week of thanksgiving in the United States, we are grateful
for the abundance of the good things of God's creation. Paul reminds
us that our thanksgiving overflows into generosity. As the body of Christ in the world, we give ourselves away as bread for the hungry.

On Tuesday, December 2, families, businesses, charities, and individuals will come together to celebrate generosity and to give back in a meaningful way. Last year, $57.4 billion was spent on consumer goods during the Thanksgiving holiday season. Imagine the impact that even a small fraction of that would have on the ministries of the church. Nuturing the global church

As the Rev. Theodore Zimmerman and his wife, Jane  "Janey" Zimmerman, retire from service as ELCA missionaries teaching at the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Hong Kong, they can look back and see that they've had a hand in the development of the global church.

Over the years, they've helped train many pastors and church leaders. Most recently, their work with the class of 2014 added 60 graduates who will serve throughout Southeast Asia, in China and even in Europe.

Worship Matters! But Why?
Led By: The Rev. Kevin L. Strickland
ELCA Director for Worship and Liturgical Resources

January 15-16, 2015
Carol Joy Holling Camp, Conference and Retreat Center,

Ashland, NE

Worship is central to gathering the community of faith around ordinary things, which becomes spiritual sustenance for a hungry heart. For Lutherans, worship matters.  In fact, worship lies at the heart of how we understand ourselves together as mission people. ELCA Pastors and Worship Leaders won't want to miss this two-day educational event. It is a chance to learn new ideas and share what you are doing.
