Welcome Val Harlynn!
Val Harlynn joined the Office of the Bishop as Communication Assistant on August 18. Val comes to the synod staff from Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa where she worked in summer camping and fundraising. Val has a M.A. in Religion from the University of Dubuque Thelogical seminary. 

Val will be working with the synod on social media, communications, and technology and is looking forward to getting to know everyone.

Faith in Action
Faith Works Mission Team serves community in Asheville

Faith Lutheran Church, Andover recently sent 27 youth and adults on an intergenerational mission trip to Asheville, NC where they partnered with The Timothy Project and Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry. This was Faith Lutheran's third intergenerational mission trip. The group consisted of 10 youth, 3 college-age youth and 14 adults. Fall Theological Conference
Register by September 14








Rostered leaders of the Southeastern Iowa Synod are invited to attend the Fall Theological Conference, September 28-30 at 
St. Paul Lutheran Church, Davenport. Early registration ends on September 14. Register today to receive the early bird registration fee. 

Hotel accommodations are being provided at Best Western Plus Steeplegate Inn in Davenport. Rooms are being held under "Southeastern Iowa Synod Theological Conference" and will be released on September 14. Call 563-386-6900 to make your reservation.

Join Bishop Michael Burk as he leads a time of conversation focused on creating a deeper understanding of what it means to walk together as we are Led by the Spirit to fulfill the mission of Christ's church.

What: Time for conversation, listening, relationship building

This event combines the annual conference assembly and the Evening with the Bishop from prior years.
