Dedication of Worship Space at St. Paul Lutheran, Martensdale
Palm Sunday, April 13, 2014 was a day of celebration and thanksgiving at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Martensdale as their newly built worship and outreach center was officially  dedicated. The former building was destroyed by fire in October, 2011. Assumption Catholic Church in nearby Churchville offered to share worship and ministry space with the people of St. Paul. Will You Put Us Over The Top?
As of April 21 we are at 62% and only 7 people away from reaching our goal of 65% participation. The chance for all synod employers to earn a 2% discount on our 2014 ELCA health contribution ends April 30.
Remember, if we reach 65% participation each congregation and organization in the synod will earn a 2% rebate on all 2014 ELCA health contributions. That is money back you can use for ministry!

Synod Picture Directory
Life Touch will be taking photos of rostered leaders for the Southeastern Iowa Synod directory. Each rostered leader that has their picture taken will receive a free 8X10 or sheet of wallets, plus a directory.

Ascension Day Worship and Breakfast
Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois and the Illowa Lutheran Coalition invite all rostered leaders in the Northern Illinois Synod and Southeastern Iowa Synod to attend the annual Ascension Day worship and breakfast on May, 29 2014 in Ascension Chapel at Augustana College. Worship will begin at 8:00 a.m. followed by breakfast.
Guest preacher this year will be Rev. Dr. Kathryn Kleinhans from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa. Dr. Kleinhans is a professor of religion at Wartburg College and holds the Mike and Marge McCoy Family Distinguished Chair in Lutheran Heritage and Mission.
