Feeding Hungry Hearts in Knoxville
On December 7th, Good Shepherd held their 8th Annual Christmas Bazaar and Cookie Walk. The bazaar began as a fund raiser for the youth for the National Youth Gathering trip and has evolved into an event that the community enjoys and congregation members of all ages come together to support. It was decided early in the planning stages that the proceeds would go half to the youth of the congregation and half to feed the hungry in the community.
On January 22 two checks each for $888 were presented to "Backpack Buddies" a program run through the Knoxville School District, and "End of Month Meals" a ministry that provides free dinner the last week of the month during the winter.
