For over nine years, at all our events, we've had reviewers come and watch the bands perform and then write their honest reviews.  Some reviews are better than others, some longer than others but all honest.

The Wanch
The Wanch has been bringing live music to Hong Kong since 1987 & is the oldest true music club in Hong Kong. The Wanch offers live music seven nights a week with different performers every night. The Wanch offers a wide variety of music. Never a cover charge, great music & a great selection of beverages.

With state of the art equipment, a comfortable setting and a great location to boot, This Music Studio aims to bring musical perfection to the highest order without sacrificing any creativity.

 

Located in Central, This Music Studio has all the necessary equipment to get you started. Whether you are recording and mixing a full length album, or just laying down a few vocal tracks, our studio has the necessary tools to make that happen.

 

Aside from being a recording studio, the live room doubles as a rehearsal space. Stacked with loads of guitar/bass amps, drums and percussion, a keyboard plus an upright piano, we can house any combination of bands, including a 12 piece jazz band.

     Sunday, 29 September, 3:00pm is when. The Hong Kong Polytechnic Univeristy is unveiling their new building, the 'Innovation Tower', that looks remarkably like a boat, and they're putting on a show to celebrate! And naturally, they asked us to help organise it, so we are. The show will feature local heavyweights RubberBand, KOLOR, Sensi Lion, MastaMic and Juicy Ning.

     The idea is to "define, inform and engage the public [you] in socially innovative ideas". There'll also be a lot of other excitement going on about the place, and you can find out more about that here       Like the rest of the festival, the gig is going to be completely free, open to all!   See you Sunday 29th September at Logo Square, Polytechnic University!  Remember to reserve your spot!

  As many of you will already know, local rock masters Shotgun Politics, recently won the Planetrox China competition for 2013 and were promptly whisked off to Canada to play at the Envol et Macadam festival in Quebec. As long-time fans of Shotgun Politics, we here at the Underground have been watching the trickle of photos, videos and other goodies that have made it back over the oceans from their trip. A trip which the band decided to turn into a mini-tour of Canada, because why not? We just wanted to say congrats again to Freddy, Timmy, Jimmy and Kid on what looks like a fantastic time and we can't wait to see them up on stage in HK again!

相信大家都知道，本地搖滾勁Shotgun Politics最近成為Planetrox2013 中國決賽的優勝隊伍，代表中國地區參加了加拿大魁 北克舉行的Envol et Macadam 音樂節！我們Underground作為Shotgun Politics的長期支持者，當然有密切留意他們在加拿大

    Dear people of The Underground, Hong Kong's airwaves have recently welcomed a new (and we hope, familiar) voice with the introduction of RTHK Radio 3's new program hosted by our very own Chris B. The show will feature local artists, indie tunes, interviews, and all sorts of other fantasticalness. This will be a great opportunity for local Hong Kong bands to get some additional airtime, as well as a great opportunity for those who listen to the radio to get a break from today's terrible terrible pop music (!)
