THE 411 IN AREQUIPA
Update Pastors' Breakfast Puno On Monday January 12, 2013, we will be starting our breakfast for pastors and their wives in the city of Puno. We are looking forward to an attendance of possibly 20 to 30 pastors and wives! Thank God for our connection with Pastor Salvador Tataje and his interest in us planning something in his city. We are looking forward and preparing for God to make a big impact in the lives of these pastors and wives which ultimately will impact their churches and congregations! There is still a lot of work to be done in Peru and we are so grateful to God that we will be able to take part in what God's doing here.
We are also in the process of putting the breakfast in Arequipa back in a hotel (neutral setting) which we feel will help us to be able to reach our goal of ministering to 100 plus pastors and wives.
In order to facilitate both breakfasts we are looking at a budget of $500 monthly. Our heart is to be able to sow into their lives allowing them a short breather to be encouraged and refreshed while uniting with other pastors and wives in fellowship and prayer.

Happenings In The Month of December
Our Christmas Celebration in our breakfast for pastors and wives was very refreshing. Usually we like to end the year with this type of service to be a time of total fellowship, allowing us as well as them time to get to know each other better, which is easy to do in a relax setting. We also do a gift exchange between each other and we also try to give each one a special gift from Ximena and myself. Thanks to Margie Grotto we were able to bless everyone with her new book on prayer.
In our celebration with the ministry of helps, in the church we assist and attend in Arequipa-God I Faithful Christian Community Church, we got to honor with our pastors (Vicente & Monica Alfaro) 40 plus workers! This is always a very special time! We believe that you should always honor those that are serving in the ministry of helps, because they actually do the work of the ministry which no pastor can do alone!
We also participated in a special act of love which our church did for the first time, but it won't be the last time, a special lunch for poor people on the streets! Our plans were to bring 20 to 30 people off the streets to our church to feed them a lunch but it turned out that the people would not come with us because of fear we had to change our plans and just go to the streets! this was a learning experience for us which will help us to be more effective the coming year. Thank God, however, we were able to give out 40 plates of lunch; bags of groceries which consisted of rice, sugar and pasta as well as giving many coats and sweaters! |
