FROM MAK:

 February 2013

2012 was the first full year of operation in our new space, we moved in June of 2011.  We are extremely proud of the success of the businesses that moved with us and have joined us since - they are making a significant contribution to our thriving local economy and vibrant community.

New businesses that started up in 2012 at the incubator produced $346,878 in new revenues!  Existing businesses at HGC increased revenues by 44% year over year.  Overall, revenues for businesses at HGC grew 388% in 2012.  A majority of the businesses have also been adding staff as they grow - new jobs.  Through their strong network, they have also been contributing to the success and growth of each other and giving back to the community through gifts and volunteering.  What an amazing impact just this small cluster of businesses has had.

Running an enterprise is risky, crazy making, frustrating, ever-changing, emotionally challenging -and rewarding :).  A warm thank you to all the businesses and nonprofits that we are privileged to work with.  We appreciate the heroic efforts you make every day to build a strong economy and vibrant community for all of us -- one business at a time.

Keep up the good work,

Mak

New Financing Program Supports Growth of Healthy Sustainable Food Systems in NH
Originally posted at CommunityLoanFund.org

The New Hampshire Community Loan Fund's NH Farm and Food Initiative improves access to capital for New Hampshire farms, food providers, and others that support the growth of healthy sustainable food systems in the state. NH Community Loan Fund is looking to partner with farmers who need capital to grow their scale, expand their markets, and add more value-added products. The Community Loan Fund will also lend to food infrastructure enterprises that need capital to grow the connections between farms and consumers, including aggregators, distributors, and processors. We are risk tolerant, flexible, and can help when traditional lenders (banks, Farm Credit, Farm Service Agency) cannot meet your entire need for financing, or you have been turned down altogether. To learn more, visit www.communityloanfund.org/businessloans. As long as your business has at least 12 months of revenue, you can fill out a brief inquiry form to start the process. If the Community Loan Fund is not the right match, it will explain why and connect you to other business education resources and/or lenders to get you on a pathway to a "yes."
