Tradition abounds at this annual Peterborough event featuring a visit from Santa, caroling with the Actors' Circle Theatre troop throughout and the lighting of the tree at 6:00! Warm up at the Peterborough Historical Society with cookies and cocoa , enjoying lively piano accompaniment. The South Meadow School Dance Team will perform their "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies". A Nonprofit Organization that Provides 0% Interest Loans to Entrepreneurs and Small Business Owners in the US and Globally
 

Through the 'crowd-funding' website, Kiva Zip is making interest free loans of up to $5,000 with a one year term, and connecting borrowers with individuals in their local community and the online community, who are willing to lend borrowers a minimum of $25. Kiva Zip has loaned over $100,000 in San Francisco, Oakland, L.A., Pittsburgh and St. Louis so far in 2012, and is looking to expand in New Hampshire. Businesses that have received funding include farmers, artists, coffee shop owners and businesses with a strong social mission.   38,000 Local Businesses and National Independent Business Advocates Launch "Shift Your Shopping" 

 

Saturday, November 3 marks the launch of Shift Your Shopping, the second annual national collaborative holiday campaign among advocates for local independent business. Shift Your Shopping  encourages citizens and businesses to make a "shift" by buying from local independent businesses for the holiday season. More than 140 local business alliances across the U.S. and Canada, collectively representing more than 38,000 locally owned and independent businesses, are participating in the campaign.
