October 2015

"Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower" ~ Albert Camus

Greetings!

The glorious colors of autumn in the Northeast are truly a second spring as Camus describes -- brilliant crimson, orange, and golden yellows unfurl their beauty in a well choreographed symphony; laughing at the hint of winter. Have you noticed that just as with spring bulbs, not everything happens at once in the fall? There is an amazing natural rhythm; just when you think the fall display of colors has come to an end, the next day another magnificent burst of color surprises you. This is the essence of mindfulness; noticing the impermanence of the moment, but also trusting that with attention and curiosity there will be other moments that we cannot predict nor control. Fall is a time of change and preparing for winter, but also is also a time that is vibrantly alive with possibilities and surprises that amaze -- perhaps like us?

Wishing you a vibrant autumn,
    Pam

Fall colors

Our Spring Day of Mindfulness was such a success that I am pleased to announce that Stress Resources will be hosting our Fall Day of Mindfulness Retreat Day on Saturday, November 14 from 9 am-2 pm at the First Parish in Concord, MA.

This is a day that will be spent in mostly in silence, moving between sitting meditation and walking meditation with a time for tea and discussion at the end of the day. We will be able to use the outdoor labyrinth space for walking meditation, if desired.

Participants should have some knowledge of mindfulness meditation (previous attendance at a MBSR program or individual mindfulness training would be helpful), but all are welcome to attend.

Retreat space is limited to 16. Cost is $50 per person. Register online
