"Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer's day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time". ~ John Lubbock

Greetings!

Summer is a time to change perspective, to reframe our busy lives for a few glorious weeks. Can you simply be? Can you accept that rest is not idleness? In a way, summer challenges the very essence of our work ethic, shifting from doing to being. As we move from temperature controlled cars to temperature controlled offices to temperature controlled houses, it is easy to forget the natural, slower pace that hot weather demands of the body and mind. Treat yourself to listening to that natural pace by slowing down, finding out a shady spot, savoring a melting ice cream cone  watching an awe-inspiring sunset, and simply being.

Wishing you a month of summer savoring,
Pam

2015 Summer Schedule

Meditation Maintenance Sessions
are a great way to give yourself a monthly self-care "tune-up" by joining with fellow meditators to discuss insights and challenges of your practice.

Due to a rent increase for my office space, 2015 Meditation Maintenance will be $20 per session. However, if this increase is difficult for you, I welcome you to pay whatever feels right for you. My intent in offering for these meditation sessions has always been and continues to be to create a space open, accessible and affordable to all.

Our general schedule is the 2nd Wednesday (evening) and 2nd Friday (afternoon) of each month. However, there may be some months when we will meet on other Wednesdays or Fridays. Please see the schedule below.

You are welcome to attend each month or simply on an occasional basis. You will find a supportive and welcoming respite in the midst of your busyness.

New Website for Stress Resources
I invite you to take a test drive around my new, updated website and let me know how it handles!

After more than a decade, I decided it was time to give my old website a new look and design. You will find many of the favorites from the old site, such as the newsletter archive and resources, but also a new events page listing upcoming groups, workshops, speakers etc. I plan on adding more videos and audio downloads to the site as it evolves.

Let me know what you like and what could be tweaked, as I want the website to reflect your needs. I am also looking for testimonials/reviews to add to the site -- these can be anonymous or with attribution. If you feel comfortable in sharing the benefits of working with me and my company, Stress Resources, I would love to include your thoughts on the testimonial page.

Mindfulness Training for Athletes
You may be surprised to learn that mindfulness is the "secret sauce" of many elite athletes. One of the foremost teachers of mindfulness to athletes is an unlikely guru by the name of George Mumford.  George was recently profiled in the Boston Globe Magazine on the occasion of the publication of his new book, The Mindful Athlete  I love to hear how mindfulness practices are becoming more mainstream and incorporated into so many facets of life...it's not only about "sitting on the cushion".
