House that Rock Built welcomes Simmons Family home!

On July 9. dozens of volunteers, staff and friends welcomed Jackie and Donald Simmons to their new home on Center St. in Freehold. The new construction was part of the WRAT's House that Rock Built partnership with Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County. Last October, the walls of the home were built in the parking lot of the Monmouth Mall.

Hundreds of volunteers and many local vendors have supported the construction of the new home. "You do not know how much this means to my family, this has been 30 years in the making and we cannot thank all of you enough for your generosity and support of our family," shared Donald Simmons.

The family's partnership with Habitat included sweat equity and a zero interest 30-year mortgage.

Take a tour of the house with the WRAT's Carl Craft here and listen to the impact of the new home on the family here
