"In everything give thanks..." 1 Thesslonians 5:18

Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County Friends & Supporters -

There is so much for all of us to be thankful for this year - for our health, for our families, for the ability to help others, and for each other. Every year we pause to reflect on the blessings and gifts we have been fortunate to receive. Our volunteers, supporters and staff have given us the ability to help families build - or re-build - their lives in safe and affordable homes throughout Monmouth County. For this we say THANK YOU.
Thanks to you, we have been able to continue to provide safe and affordable homes to dozens of families. We are grateful for your support and thank you for continuing to believe in our ability to deliver our mission - to bring people together to build homes, communities and hope.
Warmest wishes for a safe, healthy and happy Thanksgiving!

#GivingTuesday campaign on December 1 to "Fund the Foundation" for the Reyes Family
Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County has joined #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. This year's #GivingTuesday campaign will help "Fund the Foundation" for the Reyes family home in Freehold.

Occurring this year on December 1, #GivingTuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday to kick-off the holiday giving season and inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.

An anonymous donor has already committed $1,000 of our $10,000 goal to support the campaign!

The Reyes family realizing "a dream come true"
Having grown up in Monmouth County, Elizabeth Reyes (Liz) loves this area of New Jersey and has continued to live in Monmouth County ever since she was a year old. It is the closeness of the communities that is truly beautiful to Liz.
The Reyes family consists of Liz and her three children (two of whom will be living with her in the new home). Liz's special needs 19-year-old son was born with cerebral palsy, severe to profound deafness, Tourette syndrome, is developmentally delayed and was born premature. Her daughter, who is 16 and the baby of the family, will also be living with her. She additionally has a 28-year-old son who is a U.S. Army veteran that owns his own home. He and his wife are expecting their first child soon.
Liz and her family are honored to partner with Habitat for Humanity. "The staff and volunteers are officially my extended family," said Liz. "They all have welcomed me with such care and compassion. Hope is what Habitat for Humanity gave us. To have a place that we can call home has been a dream of ours. Thanks to God and Habitat for Humanity, that dream is becoming a reality. I soon will be able to have my dignity back."
