Over 60% of the questions we receive from readers concern their sexual and reproductive health. At times it is hard for the general public to accept that Turkmens might have questions about this area of health. They ask "How could this be true? We are not supposed to discuss these issues openly!" Yes, it is true: culturally we are not supposed to ask. But it is also true that by not learning science based information and discussing the issues as a society we are putting our health and the health of our society at great risk. is the first and only platform where the Turkmen public can discuss issues relating to sexual and reproductive health without being judged and get answers from medical professionals in their own language. A lot of work needs to be done but we have started seeing small changes in the language around these issues moving from derogatory use to constructive engagement around issues that matter to all of us.
