Announcing a new scholarship for Bronson nurses!
For a second time, Bronson Methodist Hospital (BMH) has attained MagnetŪ recognition from the American Nurses Credentialing Center's (ANCC) Magnet Recognition ProgramŪ. This program recognizes healthcare organizations that demonstrate excellence in nursing and is considered the gold standard. It is the highest honor an organization can receive for professional nursing practice and, to date, only seven percent of U.S. hospitals have earned it.
We are also excited to announce a Nursing Scholarship available for RNs in the Bronson Healthcare system. We will be providing five BSN students with $3,000 and three MSN students with $5,000 for the 2015 school year. This scholarship is available because of a generous gift left to the Bronson Health Foundation by Mrs. Margaret H. Varney upon her death in 1997. Mrs. Varney was a graduate of the Bronson School of Nursing and an employee of Bronson Methodist Hospital.
We are excited to offer this opportunity and we extend our congratulations, once again, to Bronson nurses!

Register today for the Bronson Children's Hospital Walk & Run!
Registration is now open for the 2014 Bronson Children's Hospital Walk & Run - the last Sunday in September! The addition of a competitive 5K run last year more than doubled participation. Bronson hosted nearly 1400 runners and walkers to benefit the only Children's Hospital in southwest Michigan.

Rock-a-thon raises $6,200 for Bronson Children's Hospital!
The sixth annual Bronson Commons Rock-a-thon event on April 24 raised $6,200 to benefit Bronson Children's Hospital! More than 200 people participated in this fun filled day!
One resident who worked hard to raise money was Bob Fuentes, a Bronson Commons resident. Working night and day for weeks, Bob collected $1600 all on his own!
Bob said he was a little nervous when he first decided to support the Rock-a-Thon. "I was not sure I could do it at first," Bob said. "I would have to go out and talk with new people, and I just wasn't sure I could do that. I found out I can." Could he ever! Bob received support from nearly 150 sponsors. Thank you, Bob, for your hard work and your support for the Children's Hospital!
