"BOLD PRAYERS"
Ephesians 3:20: "Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us..."
As I was spending time in prayer this morning I heard the Lord say, "This is the season to pray some bold prayers." What does it really mean to pray bold prayers? The word "bold" by definition means: "beyond the usual limits of conventional thought or action; imaginative."
I believe we are in a time of great harvest. Potentially the beginning of the greatest harvest The Church has ever seen. As I shared last week, there is a stirring; there is something in the air. I believe this time we are living in will require bold prayers and I believe God is saying that he is ready and willing to answer your bold prayers.
Ephesians 3:20 says he is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine. Immeasurably, incapable of being measured; limitless. That means whatever you can ask for or imagine He is able to do immeasurably more and I firmly believe we are in a time when God is about to release the "immeasurably more" over your life!
Going back to the definition of "bold", it's beyond the usual limits of conventional thought or action. I don't know about you, but I can think of some pretty bold things to ask God for and imagine for myself, my family, my calling, and the kingdom. We sometimes hesitate to pray those prayers because they are so bold we think God will never answer them. Well, chances are, if those things are on your heart and in your imagination, they may have come from God in the first place. God is saying at this very moment and specific time. If you dare ask Me boldly and you dare have a bold imagination, not only will I grant your request but I will grant it with immeasurably more than you can ask or imagine!
I like how Ephesians 3:20 reads out of the Amplified Bible: "Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]"
There's that word dare again. Go ahead, I dare you, ask, imagine, see what happens!
As we step into this season of great harvest and abundance I know there are quite a few Pastors and church leaders that read my posts every week. This next Scripture is for you. Deuteronomy 11:24-25: "Every square inch on which you place your foot will be yours. Your borders will stretch from the wilderness to the mountains of Lebanon, from the Euphrates River to the Mediterranean Sea. 25 No one will be able to stand in your way. Everywhere you go, God-sent fear and trembling will precede you, just as he promised."
Now, just change the names of areas in this passage and put the names of the surrounding towns and cities in your area. This is part of the bold prayers. Everywhere you drive, every place you walk, every place you set foot, begin claiming the land. Begin to claim your city and town for God. For some of you it may be claiming literal land because you need the room for your ministry to grow. For all of you I believe it means claiming the land and the people in it for the Kingdom. When you see that family in the grocery store or in your city or town, claim them for the Kingdom. Claim your schools, local, and state government for the Kingdom.
It's time to take the land for the Kingdom, it's time to pray some bold prayers, and it's time to expect immeasurably more than you could ask or imagine!
