Stephen's Gate
A weekly devotion to help build Christian character in the lives of individuals seeking God

"THERE IS A STIRRING"

2 Timothy 1:6: That is why I would remind you to stir up (rekindle the embers of, fan the flame of, and keep burning) the [gracious] gift of God, [the inner fire] that is in you by means of the laying on of my hands [with those of the elders at your ordination].

I had a completely different Stephen's Gate planned for this week but the Lord spoke something to me while at church on Sunday. The Pastor talked about how he was feeling a stirring within himself and a stirring in the atmosphere that is going to result in one of the greatest moves of God we have ever seen.

As he spoke, I began to be stirred. A stirring unique to what I've experienced, and a stirring that I hadn't felt in a while. Most all of you know that we relocated from Maine to Georgia last November. It was a big move and between the move, getting settled into a new town, new job, new friends, new church, etc. it can be a very draining process. There was a stirring that I felt Sunday that I had not felt in a while. A very strong prophetic stirring but also a stirring for a desire to see people set free from the bondages that they carry.

This song that I've included this week is something I want you to take time to listen to, listen to the words and make it your prayer. I know it's been preached and prophesied for years about a move of God but I'm telling you, there is a stirring in the Spirit. The Lord wants to stir up our churches, our communities, and our work places, but we must first be stirred up. Maybe you've lost your passion or have just gotten so busy with life that you haven't focused much on the call that God has on your life. Make this song your prayer, ask the Lord to stir it up in your heart.

The Scripture above is a key Scripture and I believe this Scripture is a prophetic word from the Lord. He wants to remind us to stir up (rekindle the embers of, fan the flame of, and keep burning) the gift of God. God is preparing The Church for the greatest awakening this world has ever seen. Are you willing to be a part? Are you willing to put your own priorities aside and make God and His will for your life top priority?

There is a stirring; do you want to be part of it? Something the Lord spoke to me was that there are no pre-requisites to the move of God that is coming. In other words, you don't have to have a degree, you don't have to be a full time minister, there is no limit on how many years you've been a Christian, God is willing to use someone who's been saved for 5 minutes as quickly as one who has been saved for 50 years. He's not looking for pre-requisites, He's looking for passion, and He's looking for those willing to be stirred. He will use the nameless and faceless as quickly as the most popular TV preacher. In the days ahead it's going to take all hands on deck.

I pray that this has stirred you and I pray that as you listen to this song there will be some embers that begin to be stirred in your heart.

Description
Stephen's Gate is a weekly devotion that purposes to encourage people to live the victorious life God has called them to. Stephen grew up in a Christian home and was raised in Church. As a young boy he was very shy and never wanted to be the center of attention, however, he always had the desire to preach and minister to others. God called him into ministry in his late twenties and he has enjoyed every minute of it. Stephen previously served as an Assistant Pastor in Fort Fairfield, Maine before moving to Georgia.
