Sunfish Lake Deer Harvest Results     

Hunt to Continue in Lake Elmo Park Reserve this Weekend  
A mitigation hunt in Lake Elmo parks last weekend harvested a total of 45 deer; 36 from the Lake Elmo Park Reserve, and 9 from Sunfish Lake Park. Past hunts have harvested 24 deer in 1996, 7 deer in 1999, and 12 deer in 2005. Washington County will continue the hunt again this weekend in the Lake Elmo Park Reserve. The park will be closed to the public during the hunt. 

Lake Elmo Lions Present Donation to Valley Outreach  

 

On November 13, 2013, the Lake Elmo Lions Club recently presented a donation of $2,500 to Valley Outreach, a community-based human service organization and food shelf. The Lions Club contribute annually to the organization through funds raised at various events including their annual ice fishing contest, which takes place on Super Bowl Sunday every year, and their Cadillac Dinner, which occurs on the third Monday in April. Wednesday, November 20, 7-9 pm. Fannie May Chocolate and Wine Tasting at Lake Elmo Wine Company. Join in for a fun and easy way to choose the perfect wine with your favorite chocolate candies. Thursday, November 21, 6-8 pm.
Lake Elmo Elementary will hold their 2nd Annual Sharing is Caring dinner on Thursday, November 21 from 6-8 p.m. in the school gym. Dinner will be catered by the Lake Elmo Inn and will include a full pasta meal, salad, bread and dessert. Drinks will also be provided. A $6/person suggested donation is most appreciated to help cover costs, but not required to attend. The  Sharing is Caring dinner kicks off the Winter Clothing & Food Drive;  winter outer wear and non-perishable items will be collected. In addition to the dinner, several local community organizations as well as the school's Artist in Residence, Karron Nottingham will be present to engage with our students and families. Entertainment will be provided by the Lake Elmo Elementary student musicians..

Black Friday Electronics - Before You Buy, Get the Facts

Are you hoping to get some great deals on electronic mobile devices on Black Friday, Black Monday, or any time during the upcoming holiday shopping season? How do you know if an advertised deal is really a 'deal'? Bring your questions to the Lake Elmo Public Library on Thursday, November 21st at 6:30 p.m.
for expert advice. Dan Fontana of Mobile-Link Wireless (located in the library building) will present an informal yet informative seminar about mobile technology today. He will review products, services, and apps. The goal is simply to provide a better understanding of what is available, how the devices work, and how to make a wise decision when purchasing. Key topics will include:
  • Android vs iOS
  • Phones and tablets: differences, app pricing, etc.
  • Current promotions and providers
  • Apps and features to make life a little easier
  • Location-based reminders, notes, voice to text
