Celebrate Earth Week at the
Friday, April 19


Celebrate Earth Day at the JC Raulston Arboretum

Stations will be placed around the Arboretum with experiments and activities to learn about recycling, pollution, and conservation. The first 150 participants get a free tree seedling to take home!

Duke Farmers Market Opening

8th Annual Green Home Tour

This tour includes a diverse group of newly-built green certified homes open to the public for touring, with a green building professional on site to answer questions and describe their home's green features. 

Time: 12-5pm

Generation Green & The Natural Talent Design Competition

Students from across the state will come together to participate in the collegiate-level Natural Design Competition, and the K-12 Environmental Stewardship Competition, hosted by the Triangle Branch of the U.S. Green Building Council-North Carolina Chapter.

Live & Local Earth Day Music Fest

Live and Local on Hillsborough Street is an Earth Day music festival, with a buy local theme. From Irregardless to Brickhouse, the Hillsborough Street merchants have come together for the second year to offer a diverse range of musical offerings. The music starts at Carter-Finley Stadium as part of the Red and White Game and goes until the early morning hours.

Durham E-Waste Recycling & Paper Shredding

Durham residents and businesses looking for a chance to kick off Earth Day weekend by keeping old electronics and paper out of our landfills should mark their calendars now for the City of Durham's E-Waste Recycling and Paper Shredding Event. Residents and businesses may safely dispose of nearly all electronic devices with a cord, and unwanted paper documents.

NC Science Festival at Marbles: Earth Day Celebration

Celebrate Earth Day with green energy play! Show your support for a healthy planet, and join in on activities that promote preserving our natural resources.

Planet Earth Day Celebration

The 2013 Planet Earth Celebration will be part of the NC Museum of Natural Sciences' 24 hour opening celebration of the Nature Research Center - the new wing of the Museum.

Lasting Impressions' 7th Annual Open Garden & Art Show

Start your spring off right and come out to buy some beautiful spring plants and artwork for your home garden. 12 local artists and craftsmen will feature their work, and a wide variety of plants will be for sale.

Earth Day at the Cary Downtown Farmers Market

This event will have tons of activities planned, including a recycling crafting station for kids both young and old; speakers to talk about Environmental topics such as sustainable agriculture, GMO vs. Non-GMO, etc.; as well as the musical guest Irresolved.

NC Science Festival at Marbles

Marbles is excited to participate in the 3rd Annual NC Science Festival. Marbles hands-on activities span the length of the festival and are made for our community's youngest chemists, physicists, geologists and more.

City of Raleigh Environmental Awards

The City of Raleigh established the Environmental Awards to recognize the outstanding work in environmental stewardship. The program recognizes individuals and organizations that have demonstrated a commitment to the environment in our community.

Triangle Talk and Walk: James B. Hunt Jr. Library

The focus of the tour will be the strategies used in the project which lead to the LEED Silver rating. Participants will gain firsthand knowledge of the strategies planned for the facility and then be able to see how the strategies were implemented in the completed project.

Green Drinks

This event includes a lively mixture of people from NGOs, academia, government, and business. Come along and just say "are you green?" and you will be made welcome! This event is a great way to catch up with people, or even make new contacts within the industry.

This program, organized by the Environment@rtp Committee, has recycled 653,205 pounds of e-waste from employees of the Park. Gather your old electronics and contribute to this recycling program in the spirit of Earth Week!

Come out to this monthly farmers market and sell your product, promote your business, expand your network, or even just explore and purchase the many different products!

This festival is filled with wonderful arts and crafts, your favorite festival foods, community based civic groups, and entertainment. There will be a ton of children, and Earth Day related activities for you and your family to enjoy!

Shop Local Raleigh presents the second annual Brewgaloo festival, which supports Shop Local Raleigh's mission to sustain programs that strengthen our local businesses. Brewgaloo will feature craft breweries from the Triangle and surrounding countries, and partners with local food trucks. Entertainment will be provided for guests by local bands.

Get your heart pumping with a special focus on fresh, fit fun activities in the museum throughout the day. Held the last Sunday of Earth Month in partnership with Subway.
