Stations will be placed around the Arboretum with experiments and activities to learn about recycling, pollution, and conservation. The first 150 participants get a free tree seedling to take home!

8th Annual Green Home Tour
This tour includes a diverse group of newly-built green certified homes open to the public for touring, with a green building professional on site to answer questions and describe their home's green features.

Generation Green & The Natural Talent Design Competition
Students from across the state will come together to participate in the collegiate-level Natural Design Competition, and the K-12 Environmental Stewardship Competition, hosted by the Triangle Branch of the U.S. Green Building Council-North Carolina Chapter.

Live & Local Earth Day Music Fest
Live and Local on Hillsborough Street is an Earth Day music festival, with a buy local theme. From Irregardless to Brickhouse, the Hillsborough Street merchants have come together for the second year to offer a diverse range of musical offerings. The music starts at Carter-Finley Stadium as part of the Red and White Game and goes until the early morning hours.

Durham E-Waste Recycling & Paper Shredding
Durham residents and businesses looking for a chance to kick off Earth Day weekend by keeping old electronics and paper out of our landfills should mark their calendars now for the City of Durham's E-Waste Recycling and Paper Shredding Event. Residents and businesses may safely dispose of nearly all electronic devices with a cord, and unwanted paper documents.

Lasting Impressions' 7th Annual Open Garden & Art Show

Triangle Talk and Walk: James B. Hunt Jr. Library
The focus of the tour will be the strategies used in the project which lead to the LEED Silver rating. Participants will gain firsthand knowledge of the strategies planned for the facility and then be able to see how the strategies were implemented in the completed project.

Shop Local Raleigh presents the second annual Brewgaloo festival, which supports Shop Local Raleigh's mission to sustain programs that strengthen our local businesses.
