We highly encourage you to browse through them and see what best applies to you. Also, if you haven't had the chance yet, feel free to read about El Centro's Grand Opening in the Daily Trojan, available here! Of course, have a restful break and come back ready to ace those finals!

Fight on!

PS: To celebrate our new mural at El Centro Chicano, we are highlighting one of
the Latino/Chicano activists and social heroes commemorated in it. We will start with Bert Corona, a previous USC student who was a labor and civil rights leader. Today, his legacy rests on his fight for the rights of undocumented immigrant workers and his work in organizing them. Throughout his lifetime he was involved in organizations such as Hermandad Mexicana Nacional, Mexican American Political Association, and League of Spanish-Speaking People. Corona was born in 1918 and passed away in 2001. Read this LA Times article if you wish to learn more about Bert Corona!

CAMPUS CAMPAIGN COORDINATOR (CCC)

WHAT? The campus campaign coordinator, in consultation with Teach For America recruitment staff, will work to develop and execute a detailed strategic plan aimed at inspiring top students to apply for the corps. In this position, CCC's can enhance their professional skills in networking, marketing and communication while gaining an understanding of how a successful non-profit organization operates. CCC's would begin their work in the spring of 2014 and continue through the 2014-2015 academic school year.

WHO? This is an excellent opportunity for undergraduate students (rising sophomores, juniors and seniors) who are interested in applying to be a Teach For America corps member or staff member upon graduation. Specifically, students who have strong organizational skills, an eagerness to work behind the scenes to support ambitious goals, a record of achievement in academics, leadership, and/or employment and a high level of initiative and personal responsibility.

OPERATIONS COORDINATOR (OC) | Paid Summer Internship Opportunity

WHAT? Operations Coordinators are part of our Summer Institute Operations Team, which is a group of ops-minded staff responsible for the design, set up and execution of all institute logistics.  This summer, Teach For America will run nine centralized and eight regional training institutes around the country to train our teachers and prepare them to assume full-time teaching responsibilities in the fall.

OCs will play an integral role in the daily operations of our program and are paid hourly.

They also have room, board and some travel costs provided. This team provides the infrastructure needed to deliver outstanding instruction to ~5,000 summer school students whom our corps members in-training teach. While OCs aren't in the classroom, their work has a direct impact on the quality of our institute and corps members' training experience.

WHO? Successful OCs are highly organized and detail-oriented, have exceptional problem solving skills, and are eager to learn how a large, established non-profit works. They are typically rising seniors, and not current corps members.
