Family, Friends, Food, Fun and the Grand Old Fourth of July!
Yes it's officially summer and it's time to reflect on the wonderful events and people that make Placer County generally, and District 5 specifically, such an incredible place to live, work and play.
Summer is an incredible time in our high country and in the Foothills-ripe, fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables, long hot days, cool ponds, pools, lakes and streams, not to mention music almost everywhere for those late twilight evenings leading us into unsurpassed starry skies that will share the Glory of our various Fourth of July celebrations.
You'll see me out and about celebrating with my family (here from Texas for 10 days) at community events and festivals or just taking a nice hike on Donner Summit or along one of North Tahoe's incredible beaches. Take the time to celebrate your family and your friends--go for a kayak, or a bike ride, get out on a canoe or a stand-up paddle board. Take a long hike or run on any of our incredible trails from Hidden Falls to Sugar Pine Point and all points in between. Saddle up your horse or mule and trail ride in the amazingly beautiful American River Canyon, or up on the newly accessible trails on Donner Summit. Grab your chalk bag and go climb a rock or tackle that incredible bouldering problem you've wanted to master for years. Have a picnic and the beverage of your choice (responsibly!) in your favorite park, preserve or "secret spot"......
Life is short and sweet and should be savored like a perfectly ripe peach. Join me this summer in taking advantage of all our area has to offer. Please see below for fairs, festivals, music, farmers markets, fourth of July celebrations and ALL the bounty that is Placer County!
See you out and about in the community and as always, if Jocelyn, Steve or I can be of help, please let us know!
