Dear Friends,
Happy spring!
It appears that the weather is turning our thoughts to the outdoors just in time for the Spring Equinox although we could use more rain and snow to help us deal with what could prove to be a very challenging fire season this summer.
Since the last newsletter I have had the opportunity to go to our Nation's Capitol for some very productive meetings with our elected officials, but more importantly, with high ranking officials of the many various agencies which have Federal control over our roads, bridges, highways, environmental clearances, waterways, wastewater, forests, watersheds and Public Safety Services (among many others). I was joined by Chairman Holmes and Supervisor Weygandt, along with our County CEO, David Boesch and Senior Legislative Analyst, Allison Carlos. The outcomes of those discussions were very positive and we have many issues to follow up on over the next year.
In the past month I've also had the opportunity to be out and about in the various 5th District Communities including my Monthly Coffees and Municipal Advisory Council meetings. We are still looking for additional members of the public to serve on the Weimar-Applegate-Colfax Municipal Advisory Council so please email me or Jocelyn if you are interested in serving your community.
As always if you have any questions or concerns about County services or policies, please feel free to contact me, Steve Kastan or Jocelyn Maddux!
All My Best - Jennifer Montgomery
