OLMC Yearbooks

 

Calling all shutterbugs out there...please help make this year's yearbook extraordinary. Please send picture into the school on a cd or thumb drive. We are looking for pictures of class parties, field trips, club activities, athletics, all the fun things we do at Mount Carmel.
 
Please pre-order your yearbook by January 31st for $30. This year if purchased before January 31st parent can select to have the yearbook cover personalized!

Medieval Times: A Knight to Remember - OLMC Annual Auction Announcements:

Save the Date - OLMC's Auction is on March 22, 2014

Calling all parents to participate... review your Parent Packet for specific ways to help and to donate to the auction.  Support from each family is needed to make the auction a success.  The Parent Packet and Donor forms are also located on Edline. Start sending donations now!

 

Give to Gala:

Please stop by the school this week to pick a shield to support the auction. Many shields will display needed items for the auction.  Please pick up a shield on Thursday and donate or purchase the needed items. This is a fantastic way to lend a hand an support a wonderful event.

 

Auction Volunteers Needed: Volunteers are needed for the set-up on Friday, March 21st and clean-up on the night of March 22nd.  Please send in your two donations for the auction.  Check in the lobby for ideas of what is still needed to create packages for the auction.  

 

Basketball Free Throw Contest Results:

The Knights of Columbus sponsored a free throw contest on Tuesday and many student put forth a great effort.

 

Re-registration for 2014-2015 School Year due January 24th:

Re-registration forms for currently enrolled families were sent home on Wednesday, January 8th and are due back to the school office by Friday, January 24th. There are two advantages for submitting the re-registration paperwork by January 24th:

-To guarantee your child(ren)'s spot for the next academic year.

-To receive a significant discount, which is only offered during that two week period.

 

Tax Letters for Pre-K and Before School Program:

If a tax letter is needed for Pre-K enrollment or the Before School Care Program please contact the Business Office.

 OLMC Ball Caps For Sale


Show your Crusader Spirit by wearing an OLMC Ball Cap.  The cost is $12.50 and the caps can be purchased in the front office.  Only a few remain.

This event is sponsored by Knights of Columbus Council 5480 and Catholic Daughters #2206. The event is held on Saturday, January 25th from 6:00 to 10:00pm at St. Michael Hall please come join the fun, dinner and entertainment is included.

Upcoming Events at the College of William and Mary

 

The Center for Gifted Education at The College of William and Mary will be hosting two events in the near future. The first event is the annual Focusing on the Future Event. At this event, students will attend sessions where they will learn about different careers while parents and school professionals will attend sessions where they will learn about various topics in regards to preparing students for the future. Focusing on the Future will take place at The College of William and Mary on February 1.  The next event will be our Saturday Enrichment Program. It will span from February 22 - March 22. For this event, students will come to William and Mary every Saturday and take part in STEM classes. Please see Mrs. Hill in the school office for registration paperwork. There is a cost for these programs.

If you have not yet attended a Crusaders Basketball game this season you are missing out. The OLMC girls and boys have great talent and are a true force on the court. Some upcoming games are listed below.

Open House:

Spread the word...OLMC School will host an Admissions Open House on Sunday, January 26th at 12:30 pm. Invitations will be send home for you to pass on to those families who may be interested in attending. Please invite prospective families and feel free to accompany them to the open house. If families are interested in attending, please have them RSVP to Christine Tucker in the school office. Sharing the success of Our Lady of Mount Carmel by currently enrolled families is the best marketing tool we have. Thank you for your support!

The Nurturing Program for Parents

Classes are offered on Thursdays, January 30th to March 6th, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the Bon Secours Mary Immaculate Health Resource Center on Bernadine Drive, Newport News, 23602. For more information please call 757.886.6511.

Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters is offering some wonderful free classes! Classes are offered at the CHKD Oyster Point location on Rock Landing in Newport News or Williamsburg location at 119 Bulifants Blvd.
