Dear Parents and Friends of OLMC School,
On behalf of all of our faculty and staff at OLMC School, Happy Thanksgiving to you, your family and all your beloved ones! Our preK, K and 1st grade students celebrated the end of a three week unit on Native Americans with a real Thanksgiving feast - sliced turkey, cheese cubes and treats! In the middle grades, I was delighted to read lesson plans that included the story of the Ten Lepers, whom Jesus cleansed and healed. The skit and meditation was on choosing what kind of heart we will have towards God: will we be like the ONE healed leper who returned to thank Jesus for His gifts, or like the nine, who, receiving the very same extraordinary blessings, could not find their way back to Jesus to give thanks. On this Thanksgiving, our first thanks goes to God for the great gift of life, for the gift of His Son Jesus who redeemed us.
I wish also to express a very special thanks to all of our parents, grandparents, and families, each of whom are blessings to OLMC School. May God bless each one of you, may He strengthen your family bonds over this holiday break, heal relationships, deepen faith, and provide much-needed rest! When we return, we will be celebrating Advent and preparing for Christmas!
With prayers for you and your families,
Sister Dominic, O.P.

Craft Fair
Our annual craft fair is almost here! This event has been hosted by OLMC School for many years and is greatly anticipated by over 100 vendors and many shoppers. It is a great day to do some shopping, enjoy some great food, and earn some volunteer hours.
Your help is greatly needed. Please consider volunteering your time in one of the following ways to support our vendors and our school.
o Notify anyone who might be interested in a booth, there are 28 spaces left for vendors.
o Provide baked goods for our bake sale table - items need be individually wrapped and ready for sale - please indicate if an item contains peanuts to avoid any allergic reactions.
o Make some Brunswick Stew - This is one of the most popular food items at the craft fair each year and a large quantity must be made. If you think you might like to help with this, please reply as soon as possible to be sure we have enough. A recipe and plastic storage containers will be provided.
o Help with set-up, during the fair, and clean-up - Friday after school (3:30 pm to 6:00 pm), during the day on Saturday (6:00 am to 9 am, 9 am to 12 pm, 12 pm to 3 pm) and clean-up Saturday afternoon (3 pm to 5 pm). You don't have to commit to the entire 3 hour shift - whatever time you can spend is greatly appreciated.
o Gift wrap donations - donate wrapping paper, gift bags, bows, tissue paper, ribbon, or tape for our gift wrapping station - items can be dropped off at the front office.
Please prayerfully consider where you might be able to help, and email Melanie Houle at mel_houle@hotmail.com. Please indicate "Craft Fair Volunteer" in the subject line.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at tmcgee1995@msn.com or 870-7160.
