| | Have your children outgrown their uniforms? If so, please consider donating them to the Nurse's Office. The Clinic is in need of small sized uniforms, particularly pants. When little ones have accidents, land in mud, ect, there is very little available for them right now. Currently the smallest size available is an 8, and smaller uniforms would be greatly appreciated to help the students. God Bless you for your generosity!

From the Principal's Desk
Dear Parents, Guardians, and Friends of OLMC,
It has been a week of extraordinary celebration at OLMC from concerts to marching bands, athletic and spirit competitions, D.E.A.R. time and parades - all of us have increased in love and pride for OLMC School this week. Some of the teachers who reluctantly relinquished instruction time in favor of several group or community projects, now feel they have gained so much more in seeing their students work together and bond in new ways that will ultimately help them to be better and stronger both in and out of the classroom. I am sure that the children will continue to talk about the highlights in the coming days.
It is a joy to have your children and your families at our school. This week I am especially grateful for your partnership that enables us to work together in providing a strong community life and a peaceful and happy environment for the children to learn and grow into Christian men and women. I pray that God will bless the many sacrifices you make for your children and will use the education they receive at OLMC to help them become great men and women in this world, and saints in the world to come.
With prayers for your families,
Sister Dominic

I would like to say a very special thank you to Father John David, Father Carlos and to the parish staff who supported Catholic Schools Week by attending athletic events (secret weapon Father Carlos is an outstanding volleyball player) and marching in the parade. We love being a parish school! |

On Monday, January 28th OLMC celebrated Parent's Day! There was a very special performance by the Blue Aces, a rock band made up of members from the United States Air Force Band. This very lively concert was to honor all school parents and recognize military parents and their families. The students, faculty and parents enjoyed a energetic performance full of songs, dancing and audience participation on stage. Students of all ages joined together and formed conga lines, as they paraded around the gym in celebration of Catholic education, friendship and family.
OLMC would like to extend a special thank you to Mrs. Garcia for coordinating this entertaining and memorable event!

Save the date for the event of the year! A silent auction, a live auction and an evening of cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, and dinner will take place in Saint Michael Hall on April 20, 2013.
The school auction is a wonderful way to raise money for our school to benefit our students. It's also a great way to get involved and meet people. The Spring Auction is a tremendous fundraiser for OLMC School and an event that embraces school-wide participation.
Here are some of the ways that you can help: -Donate two items to the auction -Get involved with your student's class projects -Sell raffle tickets -Sign up in the Front Office if you would like to volunteer for a committee or to help out that night.
The evening is sure to be full of donations, dining, fundraising, and fellowship! Let the fun begin!

We are looking forward to our February service project where we will be assisting PORT! The homeless are given a hot breakfast and dinner while they are at St. Michael Hall. During the day, they are on their own. Therefore, the Christian Service Club will be making bagged lunches for the homeless to take with them while they are out during the day.
We are doing a school-wide collection and are asking for donations of snacks and drinks that can go into their lunch bags. The club will be making about 100 bags!
Additionally, it was brought to our attention that the people supported by PORT are in great need of socks,
underwear, t-shirts, and long johns. Mostly men's items are needed, size large and up. There are also women in need and sizes medium and up are suggested. They are looking for donations in clean and good condition. The trouble they are having with the weather being so wet is that the PORT guests are coming into the shelter with wet clothing and socks from being outside all day. The shelters don't have anything to give them that is clean and dry, so the homeless are remaining wet and cold through the night. If you are able to donate, please know that you will truly brighten the day of these people that truly need our help.
Suggested List of Donations:
-Bottled Water
-Juice Boxes
-Sodas
-Socks
-Underwear
-Long johns
-T-shirts
-Bagged snacks
-Bags of chips, Doritos, pretzels, ect.
-Crackers
-Any non-perishable item that would go into a lunch bag
-Monetary donations will also be accepted. Cash and checks should be labeled "PORT Project"
If you are able to donate anything, please send the items into school. Please send them to the attention of Mrs. Dugan, or you are welcome to label them and bring them into the Front Office. Please turn in all donations by February 7th.
