It was absolutely excellent and very inspiring to hear the children sing! I know it was a great deal of work on your part. I am also grateful to the parents for bringing the children out that evening

Students Serving the Lord

Our Lady of Mount Carmel School's Christian Service Club recently participated in a service project with the Church to fill Thanksgiving bags for needy families. Volunteers of all ages worked together to fill 150 bags, unload turkeys and organize the food, all in the name of serving the Lord. The service project was a tremendous success and the Christian Service Club is looking forward to working with the Church again to help staff and perform for the Senior Luncheon on December 8th!

SACS Meeting
Standard Two

OLMC School is currently undergoing its five year self-study for SACS re-accreditation. Recognized by the United States Department of Education, SACS is a prestigious regional accreditation organization responsible for accrediting schools and colleges in all of the southern states. OLMC is once again working toward earning an accreditation that meets the superior criteria and quality standards mandated by SACS.

During a recent after school meeting, the faculty and staff of OLMC gathered to discuss ideas and principles related to the standards for quality schools, as they relate to the criteria required by SACS. In November, the committee for standard two gave a presentation that encompassed their standard which reads, "The school operates under governance and leadership that promote and support student performance and school effectiveness." It was determined that OLMC is very strong in this area as we provide numerous written policies and practices that clearly and directly support the school's purpose, direction and effective operation. The school has an effective communication plan in place that communicates with stakeholders though a variety of channels and mediums. It was also clearly noted that the school leadership has a strong autonomy to meet goals for achievement and instruction to manage day to ay operations effectively. Additionally, leaders and staff work hard to deliberately and consistently align their actions toward continuous improvement to achieve the school's purpose.

The Standard Two Committee did an outstanding job of recognizing our greatest efforts for promoting and supporting student performance and school effectiveness. In the coming weeks, the faculty and staff will continue to work toward addressing the remaining standards for excellence.

Christmas Gift Ideas!

*Manna Gift cards make great presents for Christmas! Gift cards are sold through the school and the church daily. Also, Manna  helpers are available to take orders every Tuesday afternoon at carpool. This incredible fundraiser supports the school, church and helps to lower your tuition.

Obtain order form during carpool on Tuesdays, or from school office or school website anytime.

Then fill out order, write check and return to school, and pick up your order from a Manna Representative in front of school on Tuesdays from 2:40-3:00pm (be sure to be back in your car by 3:00pm). If you miss the pick up, orders will be available in the school office or contact Carolyn Moore at 719-6666 or Rita Smith at 254-3994

*Our Lady of Mount Carmel School is offering ornaments that are a distinctive keepsake and a unique memento. The ornaments are made of fine pewter and are completely handcrafted in the United States. These custom ornaments are produced with the highest quality possible, and include individually hand poured castings. The castings are antiqued and then hand finished, to bring out the delicate highlights. The maker of this ornament has designs that are collected internationally, and are a part of the White House Collection of Christmas ornaments. These quality heirlooms are on sale for $20 each, and make a thoughtful and personal gift. If you would like two or more ornaments, they are on sale for $15 each. Ornaments can be ordered through the school or picked up in the Front Office.
