Chastity Rallies are open for all youth in grades 8-12 at the following locations:
Sunday, December 9 at Saint Gregory Catholic Church, Virginia Beach, 7:30 - 9:00 pm
Monday, December 10 at Saint Edward Catholic Church, Richmond, 7:00 - 8:30 pm
The rallies are free and no registration is required. Our guest speaker, Chris Stefanick, a husband and father of six, comes to us with over fourteen years of youth ministry experience to present on the topic of chastity. Chris goes beyond fear tactics about STD's and appeals to the desire in all of our hearts for real love and authentic relationships. Chris shares his own experiences of dating, being a husband, and being a dad that range from hilarious to deeply moving. Upbeat, passionate, humorous, and sensitive enough for a mixed crowd, Chris Stefanick will challenge youth to live chastity. For more information on our speaker see

OLMC is taking a proactive stand against bullying. We have a committee of dedicated teachers working on this problem which is prevalent in so many schools today. Just a few weeks ago, we had Jon Sargent present a program to our Middle School students regarding cyber safety. After the holidays we will be having the NNPD come in and speak with our students about internet safety and bullying.
We can't do this alone. Parents, we need your help. "You can do this by creating a culture of accountability at home. This means that you hold our child accountable for: how he talks to you, how he talks to his siblings, how he treats family members. When he's bullying his siblings, don't get sucked into his excuses; just because he had a bad day at school does not give him the right to mistreat anyone in your family. Your child needs to learn how to solve social problems and deal with their emotions without acting out behaviorally. Your child needs to learn this from you." Information from www.stopbullying.gov
At OLMC, we are working on accountability as well. When we hear from students who have seen bullying happen or when we hear from a parent, we take it seriously and look into the problem immediately. If you or your student knows of a situation that needs attention, please contact our school Counselor, Mrs. Baily at 757-596-2754, ext 223.
