Safe Environment Training (SET)
Per diocesan policy all those who work directly with children, teachers, coaches, substitutes, must have safe environment training. The next training is Saturday, August 27 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at school.  

Middle School Art Supply List
BSS is so excited that Mieke Toland returns this year as our Middle School Art teacher! Mrs. Toland has wonderful activities planned for our students and hopes our families are able to supplement her art supplies with a few class donations.If you are able to help, please sign up and drop your supplies on August 22 at Unpack and Peek or during the first few weeks of school!

Don't Miss the All School Picture!
Friday, August 26th is our annual All School Photo.  This year York Photography will take our picture and have them available to purchase.  ALL students in K-8th will wear the summer uniform that day and we request that Little Knights Preschool and PreK students wear white.

NOTE: If you have requested on the Emergency Form that your child not appear in photos on social media please note they will be kept out of the all school photo. This picture is used frequently in social media posts.  If you'd like to change your permissions for this particular photo please contact Tara Hackman at thackman@bssknights.org to update your Emergency Form.  Or, if you have not yet submitted your form please make that notation on the form that you approve of the "all school photo" for social media use for your child.

Welcome Back to School Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church
ALL students and families are invited to attend a Back to School Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church on Sunday, September 11th at 10:30am.  Fr. Paul has requested that all families that attend Blessed Sacrament Church come to the 10:30 Mass that weekend.  Students from all faith backgrounds are invited and asked to attend as well so that we can celebrate as a school family.  Students will walk in together in their school uniform.

Students who attend will receive a dress down day the following day (Monday, September 12)

Samantha is currently an 8th grader at Blessed Sacrament School. Olivia Young is a BSS alumni.  We are both certified Red Cross babysitters and are looking for jobs! Recruitment Opportunity at the Burlington Carousel Festival
Blessed Sacrament School is participating in the 2016 Carousel Festival and we need YOUR help! We are asking faculty, students, parents, grandparents, and f

nds of the school to consider taking a one hour shift at our table during the weekend of the Carousel Festival September 17th and 18th.

Shifts are available between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Sunday.  We need everyone's help to make this event a success!

Fall Sports Information

It is time to prepare for our fall sports.  Last chance to sign up if your child is interested in fall soccer (5th-8th), volleyball (5th-8th), tennis (5th-8th), cross country (4th-8th with stipulations), or running club (K-8th).  We know that many of you have signed up via the One Form but please add your names to the sign up genius as well since we are still processing One Forms.

Soccer (5th-8th grade): Practice on Monday & Wednesday from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the BSS field
Practice begins TODAY

Volleyball (5th-8th grade): NOTE NEW TIMES!

Cross Country (4th-8th grade and must be able to run a mile without stopping and have the maturity to run on the sidewalks/streets): 
Team will run on Mondays immediately following dismissal and pick up is 4:30 p.m. on the back. field.Training begins Monday, August 29th and runs through Monday, November 14th.  We will run weather permitting.

BSS parents or friends of BSS if you live within 1 1/2 miles of the school and are willing to be an occasional water stop for our cross country club please contact Jennifer Klein at jennietuckklein@aol.com or 336.266.4776.  You do not have to be home to support our group with a water stop!

Running Club (K-8th grade): Club will run on Mondays starting September 12th and concluding October 31st.

Required AHERA Management Plan Notice
As required by federal legislation (40CFR 763.93(G) 4) we are hereby providing this notice of the availability of our AHERA Management Plan for your review. The older portions of Blessed Sacrament School facility were constructed prior to the prohibition of the use of asbestos as a building material, and this legislation, enacted in 1989, mandate the creation of the original Management Plan and the subsequent re-inspections every three years, and the availability of that information to all parents, teachers, and employee organizations.
