Help Support the Western Alamance Robotics Team!
You are invited to support and celebrate our local Western Alamance High School Robotics Team - Aperture Science - by eating Smitty's Homemade Ice cream and Pandora's Pie Pizza in Elon on Wednesday, March 23rd. The profit share will be during the whole day but as a special treat we will show off the robot from 5 pm on.

Come and meet the seven students who have been working diligently for months to come up with a world class robot. Our robot qualified us to move on from the NC State Tournament to San Antonio, Texas.  There, our team was the only one in our division with 9 undefeated matches in the qualifying rounds, earning us a spot to compete at the FIRST World Championship in St. Louis, MO the last week in April. There will be 128 teams from all around the world, including 4 teams from NC!!!

We really would appreciate if you could come out and support us.
For more information, check us out on Facebook:

PLEASE TAKE NOTE!!
Items from the BSS Lost and Found will be cleared out during Easter break. ALL unclaimed items will be removed.  BSS uniform items will be taken to the Swap Shop to sell.  Other items will be donated locally.  Please take one last look in the Lost and Found basket prior to dismissal on March 23rd.

NC Science Festival News!

Mission to Mars Family STEM Night
Blessed Sacrament School is proud to announce that our "Mission to Mars Family STEM Night" is a SIGNATURE event in this year's North Carolina Science Festival!

"Mission to Mars Family STEM Night" will be held at the school Tuesday, April 19th from 6-7:30 pm. This event is open to the entire community!

In addition to an incredible array of hands on STEM activities, our Mars habitat village, and our EV3 robots, we are most excited to share artifacts directly on loan from NASA Houston and NASA Langley! This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see and experience a space tool bag, work pocket, astronaut glove, lunar rocks, and more!

Meet Kelvin!
Kelvin is the "spokesbot" for the North Carolina Science Festival and is a friendly robot who serves as an ambassador for science.  Be on the look out for Kelvin and follow his adventures in the Knight Chronicle and on our Facebook page!

Kelvin continues to have daily adventures at BSS!
Kelvin helped second grade complete Spelling City on their Chromebooks, he visited first grade to oversee the damage from the Leprechauns, and he checked our second grade's dinosaur display for their upcoming Dino Day presentations.  Kelvin was back in first grade helping the students with their stories about US Maps and then it was off to fourth grade to offer his assistance with a little "bracketology"!  His work with the third grade cabbage project continues and it is obvious from the picture below that he enjoyed watering the cabbages in the gorgeous sunshine.

Kelvin's time in middle school has resulted in lots of yummy food!  Sixth grade included him in their Diversity Day celebration and eighth grade treated Kelvin to lunch downtown at Zack's Hot Dogs!
