Dear BSS Families,

It is with a heavy heart that I must share the sad news of the passing of Mr. Maurice Koury.
Mr. Koury began his educational journey at Blessed Sacrament School and attended from 1st through 8th grade. He never forgot his elementary school that gave him a solid foundation of faith, family and academics.

Ann and Maurice Koury's generosity and financial support enabled Blessed Sacrament to grow and remain strong during the past 50 years.  His kindness and bountiful spirit provided us with:

-          515 Hillcrest Ave
-          Playground equipment
-          Scholarships for students
-          Bibles, books, and programs
-          Continuous financial support

His donations have been immeasurable and will not be forgotten. He truly made BSS an outstanding school.

This Friday, March 11, we say good-bye to our benefactor.  In order for the school community to honor Mr. Koury there will be a change in our school schedule.

1. There will be no school for preschool and kindergarten/no after school

2. Faculty will be at the church at 9:00.

3. 1-8 grade students will be dropped off at Blessed Sacrament Church between 9:30-10:00.   4.   4. Students must wear their school uniform and not their PE uniform.

5. Please provide a snack for your child in a disposable bag.

6. Funeral Mass at 11:00.

7. Dismissal at 1:15 from the Church. Students will not return to school.

I understand that the change may be a burden for families and for others the thought of their child attending a funeral Mass unsettling but it is important to support Mrs. Koury during this difficult time.

All are welcomed to join us as we celebrate the life of this great humanitarian, Mr. Koury.

In Christ,

Mrs. Gomez
