Our Great Wolf Lodge Raffle returns again this year. The prize includes lodging and activities for a family of 4 at GWL, plus a GWL gift card that can be used for an additional night's stay or food while at GWL. Tickets will go on sale beginning Monday, January 25 prior to our morning assembly and can be purchased through the night of our auction on February 5. The winner will be drawn on February 9th during our morning assembly. Tickets are $3 each or 2 for $5.

Children who are in kindergarten through eighth grade can participate in the clinic which will be held from noon through the first half of the men's basketball game against Towson on Feb. 6, 2016. Those who register byFeb. 1 will receive a t-shirt. The $40 registration fee is due at check in onFeb. 6.
* Participants will perform at halftime of the Elon men's basketball game vs. Towson (6 p.m.).
* Admission to the game is provided for all participants. Parents may purchase discounted tickets
online HERE (Discounted tickets are available online only. No discounted tickets will be available for purchase at the game.)
* Dinner will be provided for all participants.
* Athletic clothes and sneakers are required. Water bottles are encouraged.

Dear BSS Families
I hope to see you tomorrow night at our annual Family Appreciation Dinner/Town Hall/ Flash Forward Event. I hope we can join us as we address the "State of BSS" and what the future holds for our school. Afterwards you will get a peek of your child's classroom and teacher for the 2016-2017 school year. Don't forget dinner begins at 5:00. Thank you for your commitment to BSS. Mrs. Gomez Auction The auction is around the corner. The committee has been hard at work putting together a great Mardi Gras themed event. Please join us for a festive night on Friday, February 5, at the Ramada Inn. We look forward to it being our best and most successful auction yet. Catholic Schools Week Mass Mark your calendar for the Catholic Schools Week Mass on Sunday, January 31 at 10:30. Application for Tuition Assistance Now Available
Applications are now being accepted through FACTS for tuition assistance in the 2016-17 school year. Follow THIS link to submit your application.
Opportunity Scholarship Information
This information applies to any current Pre KIndergarten family or any prospective family with a child entering Kindergarten or who has spent at least one semester in the public school system.
The Opportunity Scholarship 2016-17 school year application will open on February 1. Priority deadline is March 1. Eligible applicants who apply between February 1 and March 1 participate in the lottery. The application remains open until funds are exhausted.
The Disabilities Grant 2016-17 school year application will open on May 1. There is no lottery for this program, thus no priority deadline. The application remains open until funds are exhausted.

Time for Twos-Our Next Session of Time for Twos Begins February 10th!
Our Time for Two sessions continue to be a success. We are still accepting registrations for this FREE program. Blessed Sacrament School's Time for Twos program is designed as a gentle introduction to school. Our program encourages children to work in a group, explore new materials, and make age-appropriate development transitions. This program is led by our own child care specialist, Jill Glenn. The class meets weekly on Wednesdays at 9:15 a.m.

Catholic Schools Week Kicks Off THIS Sunday! Catholic Schools all around the country will celebrate together from January 31st-February 5th. Next week is also Spirit Week and our Student Council has some very creative plans for each day. We are looking forward to all of the fun!
Support Student Council by participating in Spirit Week Dress Down! Pay $1.00 for the week on Monday or $.25 each day.

AAU BOYS' BASKETBALL-BISHOP MCGUINNESS
Tryouts for the NC Spartans AAU Basketball 12U team (6th grade and below) and 14U team (8th grade and below) based out of Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School will beSunday February 28 at Bishop McGuinness. Each of these teams will play 5 tournaments from March-May. 4 will be local (Greensboro, Winston Salem, High Point area) and 1 will be a travel tournament. Practices will be Mondays and Wednesdays at Bishop McGuinness. The cost for the season is $300 which covers tournament entry fees, uniforms and maintenance, insurance and registration.
The 12U team tryout is open to anyone in 6th grade or below.
Those tryouts will be at Bishop McGuinness on February 28 from 300-500 PM.
Practices M,W after school and some Sundays
The 14U team tryout is open to anyone in 8th grade or below.
Tryouts will be at Bishop McGuinness on February 28 from 100-300 PM.

Free Homework Help at May Memorial Library

Does your child need help with homework? Volunteers from Elon University will be at the May Memorial Library on Monday nights to help children with homework. Children 11 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult in the library.
