From the Principal's Desk

Dear Families,

Did anyone happen to see the sky this morning? The pink and red hues with the scattering of wispy clouds were a masterpiece of God's creation. For me, this is my favorite time of year, where there is a burst of colors everywhere. Take a moment and enjoy the beautiful season of fall.

Mrs. Gomez

Many Thanks!

Thank you to all who volunteered in helping with Oktoberfest. With your help, it was a fun and successful event! THANK YOU!

Join us if you can for our Halloween Parade on Thursday, October 30, at 10:00.

Winter Uniforms begin Monday, November 3.  Don't forget about those haircuts if they need them.

Don't Forget!

This weekend don't forget to turn back the clock and we get back the hour we lost in the spring.

Winter Uniforms

Students begin to wear winter uniforms Monday, November 3.  Please make sure you have all of your items ordered from Land's End and ready to go.

Remember that students in grades K-4 should ONLY wear the gold PE shirt, not last year's field day t-shirt.  Students in grades 5-8 wear their gold PE shirt for one day of PE and may wear last year's field day shirt for the second day of PE. The winter PE uniform is navy sweat pants, PE shirt, and BSS sweatshirt or hoodie.

Full winter uniform guidelines found HERE.  Order from Land's End HERE.

Classroom Connections
Third Grade welcomes a special visitor!
Today my gramdma came to read to my class. She read The Pumpkin Man from Piney Creek. She even brought us a pumpkin for our class.  She taught us a poem about scarecrows.  She gave us Halloween pencils too.  They had witches, bats and stripes on them.  We loved her visit to our school.
--Abi Rugh

Third Grade Studies the Solar System
Today we made solar system models.  We measured and scaled how far the planets were from the sun.  We used calculators to find the scaled distance.  We drew the planets.  We had a lot of fun!

HSA (Home & School Association)
Oktoberfest THANK YOU!
I would like to personally thank all of our Oktoberfest committee members for their time and dedication to making this event happen for the whole school community. Our members this year were Rebecca Wetter, Rebecca Wieting, Lisa Waldmann, Janet Bammens,  and Ann Amyot. Also their spouses were of great assistance on the day to bring everything together. This is a whole school event that needs many hands to make light work for our parent volunteers. I enjoyed seeing your children with smiling faces.
--Tanya Barnes, HSA Co-President

A special thank you also to the Knights of Columbus for the continued great Oktoberfest partnership and the Columbiettes for their assistance in our Knight Cafe.
