Summer Office Hours 
The school office is open Monday-Thursday from 9:00 a.m.-1:00p.m. throughout the summer.   Please note that Thursday, August 14 the office will be open from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. and the school is closed Friday, August 15.
  

Back to School Pool Party:  Friday, August 15

It's our annual pool party at Olde Forest Swim & Racquet Club!  Pack dinner for your family and join us from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. for an opportunity to meet our faculty, students, and families.  The snack bar is slated to be open but please plan accordingly.  You may bring outside food and beverage (no glass containers) and there are several pizza places that deliver.  OFRC is located at 200 Pinedale Drive in Elon. Students look for your teacher to receive a special "back to school" gift! 
Welcome Back Unpack & Peek: Monday, August 18
Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten, and K-8th grades unpack their school supplies and peek in on their teachers anytime between 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. At 6:00 p.m. middle school students and families will have a brief meeting in the multi-purpose room.
First Day of School:  Wednesday, August 20
Doors open at 7:15 a.m. and school begins at 7:45 a.m. with morning meeting. Parents please join our HSA (Home and School Association) members for a Back to School Breakfast immediately following dismissal to classrooms.


 

Grandparents & Special Friends Day:  Friday, September 19

Let your grandparents and special friends know to "save the date" for a wonderful day at Blessed Sacrament School.  Invites and details coming soon!

Immunization Information

All kindergarteners are required by state law to have a physical exam and current immunization record within 30 days of the start of school or they may not be allowed attend school after September 20, 2014.

Tdap *(Students entering 6th grade)

*North Carolina requires that a booster dose of Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis) vaccine is required for all students entering 6th grade. Please understand that your child will need to bring proof of vaccination to the school or they may not be allowed to attend school after September 20, 2014.

The back to school packet is due back to the office NOW.  Please help make Mrs. Libera's job easier!  Students are not able to return to school on the first day without an Emergency Form on file.  The forms are also linked below for your convenience.

Running Club Returns 
Running Club returns in September!  We look forward to welcoming returning and new runners.  Students in Kindergarten-8th grade are welcome to join us each Tuesday from 3:00-4:30 p.m. to run, spend time with friends, and work toward the goal of completing a 5K.  Running Club begins Tuesday, September 9.  Please sign up your child up here for running club.

From the Admissions Office
WOW!  We are welcoming 18 NEW families to grades K-8 and 8 NEW families to our Little Knights Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten next week.  I expect that number to increase as we continue to enroll new students daily.  It is going to be an exciting year and I look forward to welcoming our new and returning families back home to BSS.

Help us spread the word about the great opportunities to learn more about Blessed Sacrament School!  Word of mouth marketing is the #1 way for us to spread the good news about our school.

Volleyball

Coaches  Jennifer Lee and Tanya Barnes

Boys and Girls grade 4 to 8

Practice -Tuesday and Thursday right after school (exact times and places will be announced soon)

 

Clinic - Monday, 8/18 at a The Burlington School - Davis Street Campus

JV (grades 4,5,6) 9:00 to 11:00

Varsity (grades 7,8) 9:00 to 12:00

Players need to bring knee pads, a light snack and a water bottle.

 

Parent Help Needed!!

We need at least 2 parents (one for JV and for Varsity) to help at practices and games.

Practices are Tuesdays and Thursdays from after school to 5:30 at the latest. Most games are held on Saturdays.

We also need at least 2 parents to help with the clinic on August 18th.

Mini-clinic - Tuesday 8/19 3:00-5:00 at BSS.  All interested players should try to attend for all or part of the time.

Players need shin guards, cleats and water at every practice and game.
