I am desperate for some 80 degree days. It looks like we have night time freezes behind us. Buds are trying to break out in the vineyard. I can search out little leaves and clusters but they are few and far between. We have the moisture we need....we just need heat units. We take a slight break from the vineyard and winery this week to make sure Dad gets his corn in the ground. Next week we brand and work cattle followed by planting the new Marquette. Needless to say, we have plenty to accomplish in the next couple of weeks.
Kristen posted pictures of the new weather station on Facebook a couple weeks ago. For those who do not do the whole Facebook thing, one of the UNL crop specialists installed a weather station in the vineyard to do some research. This is the first UNL weather station to be installed in a vineyard in the state. Really smart researching academics will do their thing while I just try an make palatable wine.
Effective May 1, Foxtail Blush and St. Vincent are on sale. It will be the same deal, $7.99/bottle sold in case lots only. You can mix and match. We will be offering this sale at Toast Nebraska at Mahoney. If you choose to attend and buy a case, that sale price alone will pay for your ticket to attend.
Kristen says I have to wrap this up. That's a first. Hope to see you soon.
