JESUS DISCRIMINATES
February 24, 2014, Arizona State University
Last week the Arizona legislature passed a bill that would permit businesses to deny services to any person if doing so would substantially burden the business owner's exercise of religion. The homosexuals say the bill is targeting them. The governor has yet to sign the bill and the pundits are claiming that she will not sign it. The GLBT alliance was out in force in opposition to the bill and chanting slogans. They were carrying signs, one even claiming that Jesus would not discriminate.
"Jesus offers salvation to all but he is discriminating as to whom he receives into his Kingdom."
-1 Cor. 6:9-10.
I stood in front of their demonstration lifting up my Bible but saying nothing initially since I did not care to try and speak over their microphone. Channel 10 was covering the demonstration as was the student paper. The media interviewed me for my opinion. They wanted me to start preaching; evidently, they needed some action for the evening news. It just took a little nudge for me to lift up my voice against the Sodomites. I warned that God discriminates by only allowing the righteous to enter into heaven. Jesus discriminates between right and wrong and good and evil. Liberals have almost ruined a good word, "discriminate." We should be discriminating when it comes to moral issues. Jesus offers salvation to all but he is discriminating as to whom he receives into his Kingdom.-1 Corinthians 6:9-10.

There was a female wearing a clerical collar, who identified herself as a United Methodist, holding a sign next to Bro. Jed, which read "You all deserve Heaven & Peace."
Until I arrived no one was paying attention to the protesters except for the media. Even after I started preaching only a small crowd gathered. There was a female wearing a clerical collar, who identified herself as a United Methodist holding a sign next to me, which read "You all deserve Heaven & Peace." I reminded her that the United Methodist Book of Discipline say that homosexuality is incompatible with Christian teaching. She said that she did not agree with the Book of Discipline.

Pro-sodomite protesters claimed that Jesus would not discriminate.
At the next break I moved towards the fountain area hoping to draw an audience. ASU in recent years has become more difficult to get students' attention. The rest of the afternoon was interesting in the people we met. First a lady, who works at the University, introduced herself and explained that she first heard me as a student in 1978. Evidently, she wore long skirts in those days and when she went to class her professor thought she was Sister Cindy. The lady was with her daughter, who wanted to meet me. Next Jonathon and his wife introduced themselves.
Local Channel 10 interviewed Bro. Jed.
Jonathon was a regular at my meeting on the Oval at Ohio State in the late eighties. He met his wife on the Oval while I was preaching. Countless people have told me that they have built longtime friendships or even met their spouse during our events. Jonathon remembered coming to one of our open houses and playing catch with Evangeline on the Oval. He also remembered Holy Hubert. It all came back to me after he left, who he was. Finally, Deana, who is a friend on facebook, who sometimes disagrees with my posts and who now lives in Mesa came out after she got off work. We had a pleasant conversation; she posted a picture of me on FB, "a blast from the past." She heard me as an undergraduate at the University of Texas. She comes from a Pentecostal background but is apparently not attending church now.

OUTSIDE AND INSIDE
February 25, 2014, ASU
Since I was preparing for my formal debate in the evening, we did not arrive on campus until 2:45. Students had been waiting for a few hours to confront us with protest signs. Cindy immediately drew a large and boisterous crowd. After preaching an hour she called upon me. I began by announcing the debate and the question, "Is the Bible a good moral guide?" Several raised their hand to agree that it was; however, none of them actually helped me to defend the Bible. I asked them to name a book, which is morally equal to or superior to the Bible. Several said, Harry Potter.
Sis. Cindy tells the story of HPV Holly who finds out that sin brings undesirable consequences.
One fellow strongly objected to the story of Elisha commanding two she bears to maul 42 young men for mocking the prophet. I said, "You better be thankful that I am more patient than Elisha. However, if you persist in mocking me then I just might call two Wildcats (UA mascot) from the desserts of Arizona to attack all of you." They do not realize what a serious thing it is to mock a messenger of God and hinder him from proclaiming the Truth. Eternal souls are at risk. Mockers often inhibit otherwise open hearts to hear the message which can save them from eternal damnation.
Secular Club sponsored the debate, "Is the Bible a Good Moral Guide?"
Sinners were doing that very thing this afternoon by holding signs in my face attempting to block my message from going forth. However, instead of calling for those wildcats, I mostly out-maneuver the hecklers. Both Cindy and I related our testimonies. Sister Pat witnessed to several on the sidelines. We preached until 5:45. We could have easily kept that sizeable crowd for another hour or so. But we wanted to eat before the debate and I needed to prepare my mind for a more intellectual setting and challenge than the audience of mostly goofballs and sex maniacs, with which we battled this afternoon.
A roomful of mostly atheists showed up for the debate. They were good listeners with intelligent questions for the most part.
We had a roomful of students (60) show up for the debate inside. Everyone was courteous and thoughtful. My main objective was to give the audience principles by which they could interpret what my opponent perceived as troublesome incidents and issues in the Bible. I could not begin to address with the time limitations all the passages which he could not abide. Hopefully, serious students will come out this week and ask about what they consider immoral acts of God.
This vulgar sodomite was listening to the outside preaching for several hours.

Students claimed that Harry Potter is a better moral guide than the Bible.
Jesus taught us to love God and our neighbor which is the highest standard of morality.

THE SPECTACLE
February 26, 2014, ASU
A dozen protesters had been waiting for us for over an hour with the signs. We arrived on campus about 1 PM which is an hour later than usual. Cindy gave a sermon entitle,
Ten Truths God Expects You Know Before Reading the Bible
1. There is a God who created you and loves you! (But not the way you think)
2. Man is more than an animal!
3. Two truths cannot contradict each other
4. God gave you a conscience and expects you to judge right and wrong.
5. Your parents are smarter than you.
6. Self Defense is Just and Good.
7. Do not molest a child.
8. Do not put your private parts in someone's anus or mouth or vise-versa.
9. Do not kill your baby while he/she is still in your womb or your baby-mama's womb.
10. Keep your mind clear of alcohol, marijuana and other drugs.
Students often bring up I Timothy 2:12 and use the verse to argue that the Bible oppresses women.
After completing this message she called upon me. I brought up the yesterday's debate and attempted to get the students to engage in a discussion concerning morality. However, most of them are out of contact with their moral nature, since they are obsessed with gratifying the lusts of the flesh. I was able to have some intelligent dialogue concerning the nature of sin emphasizing that sin is a selfish choice not a condition of birth. I instructed them about the rules of Biblical interpretation, teaching how the stories of Cain and Able, Abraham and Isaac, and the Passover were allegorical. Each story explaining in symbols aspects of the gospel of Christ.

This angry United Methodist campus minister forces a hug upon Bro. Jed.
A United Methodist minister was picketing with the sodomites against our preaching. She insisted that she was more of a Methodist than me. She accused me of interfering with the UM ministry on campus. Actually, she was intruding on my ministry. I have been ministering at ASU longer than she has been alive. Later she gave me an unsolicited hug. Cindy seemed to think she was enjoying the experience too much. Even though it could have been considered sexual assault, I wasn't too hard on her because I know how desperate these females are for a real man. So many males of her generation have been effeminized. Perverts were all around me today.
Perverts swarmed Bro. Jed.
A couple of street preachers have been accusing Cindy and me on FB as being showmen and entertainers. Paul wrote in 1 Cor 4:9-10, "We are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men. We are fools for Christ's sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honourable, but we are despised." According to Matthew Henry spectacle signifies a theater. We like to use all the arts in conveying the gospel. I had a private conversation with a boy, who attended the debate last night. He parted by saying, "You are quite the entertainer."
"Bro. Jed, you are quite the entertainer, " commented a student who had attended the debate the evening before.

A PRAISE REPORT FROM 1978
February 27, 2014, ASU
There was silent protest including an Episcopal priest; evidently, the United Methodist and Lutheran lay people were also represented. Henry VIII, John Wesley and Martin Luther never would have condoned homosexuality. Henry the VIII founder of the Anglican Church introduced the first legislation under English criminal law against sodomy with the Buggery Act of 1533 making buggery punishable by hanging, a penalty not lifted until 1861. Of course, a few of the gays broke their silence. Others identified themselves as gay allies. Later a Mormon even joined the protest. They are protesting holiness; we are protesting sin.
We were joined by a father and son witnessing team from Victory World Outreach.
Some of the faithful from Victory World Outreach, where I spoke on Sunday night, were witnessing with me today. Most of the ministry was either one-on-one or talking with small groups. The best conversation I had was with Steve concerning issues which were raised in the debate. Earlier I taught on open theism to a small group. One man whom I recognized from pass years was impressed by the open view; he acknowledged he had never heard this point of view. Sister Pat had her best group from about 4:00 to 5:30 PM.

Jackie M. Olson posted on FB today, "My life was changed 35 years ago due to Bro. Jed preaching the gospel on the Tucson U of A Campus.... Thank you Jesus. In 1978 a friend of ours from Montreal Canada was walking across the Tucson University of Arizona campus. You were there preaching and the The Door church was there as well praying with people.. This friend of ours had a dramatic conversion that day....he repented and received Jesus into his heart. He came back to Canada 3 months later and witnessed to me and my boyfriend at the time. He was so full of the Holy Spirit that we could not deny the truth and power of the gospel. I was 16 and hopelessly lost. Jesus forgave us and set us free.... Shortly after this we were married and planted ourselves in the house of God, ...Wehave been blessed to raise 5 beautiful kids & see 8 lovely grand children enter our lives. We have been in the ministry for 26 years.. much of that time spent in street ministry!.... we have been so blessed and so much of that we owe to you for being out there on the University campus that day and spreading the gospel message.... beautiful kids & see 8 lovely grand children enter our lives. We have been in the ministry for 26 years.. much of that time spent in street ministry!.... we have been so blessed and so much of that we owe to you for being out there on the University campus that day and spreading the gospel message....
I remember that day would the young Canadian was converted.

MYRIAD OF ISMS
February 28, 2014, ASU
ASU is one of those campuses in which there are not nearly as many students on Friday as other days of the week, especially in the afternoon. Cindy and I started together each holding a sign. She was doing most of the preaching and I would punctuate her messages against particular sins by blowing on my Uncle Si duck call, which we use to command the sinners to repent. I sometimes commented on her message as she was speaking.
"...by junior high school most of our youth are brainwashed with the isms," Bro. Jed.
We did get some attention from what appeared to be large number of junior high school students, who were visiting campus. Of course, their language can be as vile as that of the college students. They would listen until their teachers would shoo them away. Alas, by junior high the youth are mostly brainwashed with humanism, secularism, multiculturalism, feminism, liberalism, racism (reverse), environmentalism, gayism and myriad other isms, except for conservatism, nationalism, realism, moralism or anything positive about religion. The old disciplines of reading, writing and arithmetic are not of much importance anymore.
Students admit that we give them a lot to think about.
We did manage to get the attention of a few college students. Sister Pat engaged Taylor and his girlfriend; last year they were two of our chief hecklers. Taylor has a Christian background. Pat managed to shame him into behaving in a more mature manner. Finally, he asked why the cross was necessary for the forgiveness of sins. Why could not God simply forgive people without the cross? Or why does God have to forgive sin at all? Sister Pat at this point turned him over to me. I explained the governmental view of the atonement. Afterwards, Taylor said, "That makes sense I have never heard it explained like that before." I further instructed him on the requirements of the Moral Law of God and the nature of man as made in the image of God. At the end of over an hour of teaching Taylor remarked, "You have given me a lot to think about."
Sister Pat gets a lot of mileage out of her sign.
Next I spoke with Brandon and Steve from one of the Christian fellowships on campus. They were very attentive as I taught on confrontational evangelism, the use of the law in preaching and the armor of God. They seemed receptive. They did balk at the holiness message, challenging me with Roman 7. However, they did listen as I taught on Romans 7 in the context of chapters 6 and 8. Eventually, we moved into 1 John, when they brought up 1 John 1:8. I sensed that they were inspired at times; I preached to the two of them as I would have preached within a church to a large congregation. Other times they were questioning since I suppose most of what I was teaching on usage of the law and sanctification was contrary to what they were learning in their fellowship. Before they left at 4:30, I prayed with them that they would be like the noble Bereans and search the Scriptures daily to see if what I teach is true.
