Note from Sis. Cindy:
Two days ago my husband preached to a hundred students in 45 degree temperatures and lots of wind. I stood shivering but listening with delight as he proclaimed the words of life! It has the same wondrous attraction to me that it had 35 years ago as a University of Florida student listening. I appreciate his faithfulness!!  Yesterday he and Sis. Pat shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ to much bigger crowds in even lower temperatures.  I stayed home to work on our new website.  The rest of the week we will be in Colorado and the weather does not look any better. God is not hindered. Next we are on to proclaim the Message on campuses in Missouri, Kansas and Kentucky. Sinners are being reconciled to Christ! Pray for us and our listeners! Enjoy the Week 5 journal and share it with a friend!

TopTHE LORD ROARS
September 16, 2013, Indiana State University
Several complained, "Why are you yelling at us
"That's what it takes to get your attention," I answered.
Jeremiah 25:30 says, "The LORD will roar against his own land from his holy dwelling in heaven. He will shout like those who tread grapes; he will shout against everyone on earth."
Sis. Kathy Fischer used her vacation time to join us for ten days of ministry.  Go Kathy!
God himself is a shouter; he shouts against all the rebels who dwell on the earth.  Our shouting gained the students attention.  We had a stead crowd of 50 or so throughout the afternoon.  A male, who goes to one of the evangelical churches in town, read me an email from his pastor.   The pastor objected to my preaching.  Of course, the pastor had not heard my preaching; he was just going by what others said.  Supposedly, I turned off a girl who is suffering from depression since she had been sexually abused.  Now she was not going to go back to church because of me.  One pervert exposed himself to Sister Pat.
Sis. Pat explains that because of our sins we all deserve hell...
Sister Brenda A. has joined us for the week, which brings our team to six.  Brenda started as a Pentecostal evangelist then served as a missionary in the Middle East and finished her career as a Republican operative.
I was interviewed by a reporter from The Statesman.  She wants to do a profile on me after last week the paper published a two page article.
...but because of Jesus Christ, we all are offered eternal life.
Sis. Cindy warns a ISU rebel that he will one day stand before a holy God.
God is trying to get your attention ISU students!
Brenda A. minister and missionary, joined us at ISU.  She plans to write an article on us for a Christian magazine.
Bro. Mikhail is really developing as a campus preacher!

"TO SIN IS HUMAN"
September 17, 2013, IUPUI
"Judge Mikhail" quickly gathered an audience.  A male asked Mikhail, "Have you sinned today?"  When Mikhail answered in the negative, the male said, "Nobody, who is human, has not sinned today; you have an evil heart."  Mind you it was only the noon hour.  Yet he was convinced no one could go even half a day without sinning.  The man was in effect saying that one cannot have a pure heart.  Yet, Jesus said in the Sermon on the Mount, "Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God."
Sis. Kathy stirred up a hornets nest today with her powerful preaching of the Gospel.  Here she is talking with IUPUI students on the sidelines.
Another said, "I was addicted to porn for six years, but I was a believer."  Later when I challenged his remark, he clarified by saying only for two of the six years was he a believer or in a justified state.  He claimed Jesus healed him of his addiction.  I asked, "Why did it take two years for Jesus 'to heal you of your addition?'"  He said something about getting healed after he figured out that he looked at the porn to compensate for his loneliness.  Yet, he admitted that even after being healed of his porn addition he still had sin in his life.  Later Mikhail and I both had a long talk with him on the sidelines.
I think that it was this same man, who said, "Jesus satisfied God's requirement of righteousness."  To him, this meant that we are not required to be righteous since Jesus obeyed for us.  The man is deceived.  1 John 3:7 says, "Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he (the Lord) is righteous."
These people have the wrong idea of both sin and righteousness.  They mistakenly think that Adam's sin is accounted to all men from birth and that Jesus' righteousness is accounted to the believer regardless of his behavior.
Sis. Brenda A. has some productive dialog on the sidelines.
The crowd was loud and boisterous.  Sister Kathy stirred them up even more than Mikhail.  She is very bold in the Lord and a preacher of righteousness.  A Porto Rican girl, who had initially disagreed with my message and methods, sat at my feet for over an hour.  She was under deep conviction, even to the point of tears.  Before Sister Kathy talked with her she admitted that she saw the effectiveness of my approach since she observed numerous pockets of conversation about spiritual matters taking place.  Kathy spent another hour with her.  The girl was backslidden, depressed and had allowed the boys to have their way with her.  However, Kathy testifies that she prayed a prayer of repentance and faith; then Kathy prayed for her.
Bro. Mikhail listens to an IUPUI student's objection to the preaching.
Mikhail also talked with two honest seekers, who confessed to being backsliders.  They demonstrated sincere interest in Mikhail's exhortations to holiness.  Sister Brenda had a few students around her almost all afternoon.
A group of sinners demanded that I delete the pictures I took on my cell phone of them in the crowd.  I refused.  They claimed the law said I could not take their pictures without their permission.  After much arguing, they called the police.  About six policemen arrived; I think different one's called them.  Of course, the police informed them that there was no law requiring me to get their permission for picture taking.

"SLUT-SHAMING"
September 18, 2013, Indiana State
My text was taken from an opinion piece in the Indiana Statesman by ISU coed, Alice Brumfield, on "slut-shaming."  Alice opened her editorial by asking, "What does it mean to be a slut?  Is it when a girl has slept with over five guys? 10? 20?  According to our society, it's pretty much girls who aren't virgins.  Over the past six months, I became aware of a term called 'slut-shaming.' A term defined as the idea of shaming and/or attacking a woman or a girl for being sexual, having one or more sexual partners, acknowledging sexual feelings, and/or acting on sexual feelings."
This ISU student took issue with our message of repentance.
I asked for input from the students on what constitutes a slut.  I postulated if a girl masturbates or lusts after men she is a slut at heart.  I repeatedly told students that I need to have a good talk with Alice.  I got a lot of mileage out of her article; it confirms the attitude of a lot of coeds, which I have been speaking against for decades.
I am a slut-shamer.  I hope that these girls would have enough shame to confess and be delivered from their whoredom.  The feminists often refer to themselves proudly as sluts; sluts are glorified in the Hollywood culture in which live.  On the other hand, girls that want to maintain their virginity are shamed into casting it aside.
Alice concluded by writing, "The way I see it, as long as you're being safe about it and not spreading around any sort of diseases that are out there, go out and get laid as much as you want."
She prefers the message of peace but we told her that the Bible teaches that there is no peace to the wicked.
I gathered an audience of about 25; however, I lost the crowd when the police asked me to move since my audience was blocking the sidewalk.  At 2:30 I started preaching again against slut pride using Alice's piece, which illustrates everything a girl should not be.
Alice shows up!  She spoke up when I said I am not reading the words in the article which use God's name in vain.  Alice then filled in the words by using God's name in vain.  Well, it turns out Alice is a virgin.  She even submitted to Brother Jed's virgin test (not a physical exam, but an oral exam) and passed!  I asked, "What would your parents think if they read this article?" To my surprise Alice had a sweet disposition and she comes from a Christian home and she claims to believe in God.  Poor Alice has been brainwashed by feminism and she in not even majoring in women's studies; still she has fallen for their propaganda.  Feminism is a deep pit.

Sis. Cindy takes a break from the meal prep to preach for an hour.  They have no shame!
Cindy had been making her Lasagna all day, baking cookies and preparing the salad for our open house tomorrow evening.  She came to campus with Brenda about 3 PM and preached for almost an hour.  She slammed the sluts with the Word of God.
Today was our smallest crowd of the semester at ISU; however, each of us had good conversations.  A female said to me, "I tried Christianity but it did nothing for me; nor did it meet my needs."  I responded, "Christianity is not about you and your needs; it is about serving God and others."
Sis. Kathy preaches to many or a few. Crowd has thinned out but the Holy Spirit is still working. Kathy offers them hope in Christ.

"COMPEL THEM TO COME IN"

September 19, 2013, ISU

Mark Seward from Columbus, OH, joined us on campus to preach; he heard Cindy and me and Tom Short when he was a student at Ohio University in the early 80's; he became involved in the Christian organizations on campus and as a result he converted to Christianity. We had an audience gather several times but each time it died out. Nevertheless, a few would hang around and we had profitable conversations. Mark made the trip from Ohio to take part in our open house and dinner.
ISU students listening to the word of God.  How shall they hear without a preacher?

The first two, who came to our Lasagna dinner, were Muslims, one from Saudi Arabia and the other from Afghanistan. The Afghan appreciated the American presence in his country. The purpose of the meeting tonight was to socialize, not to get involved in religious disagreements. They were both delightful guests.  Sis. Brenda did a great job of ministering to them because of her background in the Middle East. The Saudi was fasting till sundown. Cindy gave him a big plate to go.

Lexi and Will arrived 7 PM and they stayed over an hour. Lexi professes faith in Christ and often has her Bible with her and she gives me verses to read to the students. She has a sweet spirit. Will said that he did not believe in the Bible. He did not think it made sense. A non-student, Scott, who heard us on campus, attended. We had several other guests, who are neighbors. We were disappointed in the small turn-out of students. But we were happy to serve the ones which attended.
Sis. Cindy takes a break from busy preparations at home..."the truth shall set you free!"
Jesus told the parable of a "certain man, who made a great supper, and bade many."-Luke 14:16. We invited the multitude of students but few actually came. But that is the way it usually is. "Many are called few are chosen."
ISU student responds to the preaching. "They have no cloak or covering for their sins!" But they keep trying to justify wickedness.
We are not discouraged; tomorrow, like today and yesterday, we will "Go into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that the Lord's house may be filled."-Luke 14:23. What did Jesus mean by compel? My understanding is that we are not to accept no for an answer. Daily it is said to me, "Why argue, I am not going to change and you are not going to change." I usually answer, "I believe my arguments are sound and that I will change your mind, if not today, then tomorrow."
This student listened all day. Bro. Jed prayed with her at the end.
We donated the extra lasagna to the local lighthouse mission.

HERE COME THE SMOCKS
September 20, 2013, Indiana University,
My post concerning Hollywood producer Roger Nygard's contract with Country Music TV for a Brother Jed and Family Reality Show seems to be going viral.  About all I said was, "Move over Duck Dynasty; here come the Smocks."  Within 36 hours, I received inquiries from five media outlets.  Everyone at IU today seemed to know about the proposed show and was excited.
This student was in Bro. Mikhail"s face but Mikhail showed a lot of patience with the wretched soul.
I started the preaching at the noon break and gathered a hand-full of people.   Since they were asking about the reality show, I informed them that we might to the filming the pilot at IU, but we needed a token homo for the show.  One boy volunteered but I question whether he was flaming enough for TV; he acted too normal.  I also said that we need a token virgin for the cast of thousands.  One of the girls claimed to be a virgin.  I decided that getting the homo converted was more important than the show.  I told him I was calling upon Sister Pat, who raised two manly boys, to instruct the gay in manliness.  Sister Pat gradually gathered more students.   Meanwhile, 6 to 8 people gathered around the sidelines to instruct me as to how to evangelize.  One was from CRU and he wanted me to practice relational evangelism.
A little rain did not dampen the Holy Ghost fire!
Around 2 PM a thunderstorm moved through campus, most scattered but a dozen or so followed us for shelter under a tree.  I had good conversation with a young man who had some good philosophical questions.  I spent a lot of time with two pretty but immoral coeds.  I tried to convince them that God had better things out there for them than what they were getting from these college boys.  One of the girls, Gabby, is an atheist.  Whenever, I come to campus she spends most of the afternoon listening.  She was recording today for to play back to her parents.
The You Deserve Hell sign really opens hearts!
Mark Seward started preaching again after the rain temporarily stopped.  He gathered a huge crowd.  Mikhail and Sister Kathy also preached.  I took over again shortly after 3 PM and the audience mostly stayed in a light rain.  The Secular Alliance arrived about this time with a table and their bingo cards.  As a result of Sister Kathy and Sister Pat witnessing to Ryan, he prayed to receive salvation.  We left campus about 4:15.  I really like preaching at IU.
Bro. Mikhail ignores the detractor and continues with the message of freedom from sin!

    SCHEDULE  Fall 2013
The following is my tentative schedule for the fall semester. It should be noted that this is a tentative schedule and subject to change. We have decided to spend more time commuting to the six campuses which are an easy drive from our new home in Terre Haute. We urge our friends to join us this fall. We have the room to house you during the time of outreach. Notice we have targeted Sept. 19 as an open house for ISU or neighboring campus students. We have used these open houses effectively at the University of Missouri. When we visit your area, we also challenge you to unite with us on campus. Notice I still have some Sundays open for speaking engagements in churches and I am always available for home fellowships as a teacher. We also appreciate offers of hospitality for Sister Pat, Sister Cindy and I when we are on the road. Bro. Jed
